Staying at barca and being officially part of the first team doesn't guarantee a lot of pt... Look at keyta, adriano and Maxwell last year... But who knows hopefully he does and proves me wrong

Pep loves JDS. I remember him praising JDS's versatility last summer. He played JDS in a position he never played before and he did a good job of it. I think Pep is going to play JDS in a couple of positions. So, minutes wouldn't be THAT much of a problem.

Supposedly Keita is leaving on a free transfer to Milan in the summer. If that happens, JDS will be his replacement kind of like he did when Keita went to the CAN. I don't blame the skepticism though. Let's see if Pep doesn't bring another midfielder from outside like he did with Cesc even though Thiago has been showing he belongs in the first team.

I say JDS should stay 2 more years and if PT becomes a major concern then move. They must have faith in him if they extended his contract or else he easily could have been another Barcelona B dropout.

Kind of. But his new contract stipulates that he has to be integrated fully into the 1st team as of next year or something like that. That doesn't guarantee him playing time obviously, but he will be on the first team.

Training with the first team on arguably the best club in the world is nothing to be frowned upon, if anything it shows jonathan's conviction and quality

Still doesn't compare to getting actual playing time. No matter how good the team is practice doesn't compare to playing time.

How can he know what to perfect when he gets no PT on the first team?

Based on what? The team is stacked at his position, and even if he were to get playing time, it would probably the random copa game here and there.

He's not 18 anymore, he needs to get 1st team action elsewhere or before you know it he will be a mid 20's player still at Barca B

Every single season is the same thing. He spends the pre season with the 1st team, makes the bench for some games but has no real role in the team

The sky is falling. Why shouldn't he get PT on our NT? Guardado is a sure starter and he plays in the Spanish segunda.

Jonathan definately needs to leave Barca. After Keita leaves, Affellay will probably be back too. I think Borussia Dortmund would've been a great option had he not renewed his contract with Barca.

"Pep Guardiola will not continue after the end of this season at Barcelona. The maturity of this decision and how we announce this decision has to be the basis of the future of the club. Thank you very much for everything you have added to the club. Thank you for having perfected one of the styles well-renowned in world football. Our style will never ever be questioned and we will continue this style. He's done it in a very valid way following the values of Bracelona, those that define the club. Thank you for all the work and your love. The things he has done will be eternal for the best coach in the history of the club"
