I think he's being trained to be able to play both the center mid and the defensive mid role. If he is to succeed at Barca he needs to be able to play those 2 roles pretty well. Once that's done he will easily be second choice to Busquets which is not a bad thing and still be able to get a lot of minutes, because he's flexible. Having a player that can play 2 roles like that adds a lot to the team as they can avoid doing man to man substitutions, especially with Xavi getting old and Iniesta losing his dribbling ability in a couple of years and will begin to get tired and needing more rest. Note: Barca is full of CM/Wingers, but no CM/CDM other than Xavi. Also he is 21 in a position where a 38 old can still be pure class, I can't think of any CDM, that is younger than 22 and playing for a top club even as a sub. 24 years old seems to be the right age when the CDM's start to come out. Also Busquets is hax.
I think there is a clause in his contract that he will be receiving first-team minutes after this season. Someone verify this for me, thanks!
