John Edwards....smooth talking, populist, multi-millionaire protectionist trial lawyer...
Did I leave anything out?
Oh, don't worry, we'll still have John Edwards to kick around again. He ain't goin' away.
He can talk to dead people too. I've seen him do it on the Sci-Fi channel.
No, no, no. That's Kucinich.
Loser? Quiter? Laugh all you want, but chances are that the slick southern lawyer will be our president one day.
In fact, I will go out on a limb. I predict that Edwards will be a US president someday, while Kerry never will be.
The American people aren't stupid enough to elect a slick talking southerner as president.
We much prefer bumbling idiot faux cowpoke "southerners"
Nothing defines "loser" better than another tired, old corporate-beholden, big-government, pseudo-progressive northeastern republican punching bag.
Its Yale '66 versus Yale '68. Skull and Bones versus...Skull and Bones.
I feel like my interests will be well-represented.
No, since you usually leave out intelligence in your posts.
The voices in your head seem to be getting worse, no?
Not to single you out...
KK attacks Edwards while oman, and others, likes to attack KK. Hmmmm, I wonder which could pass as valid opinion (while quite possibly flawed) on a public/political figure and the other a personal attack on a fellow member of bigsoccer.
This stuff needs to stop. If you can't debunk other's opinions without the cheapshots, then don't post.
Re: Not to single you out...
Of course, this IS a favorite tactic of many of the leftists on this board. They come at me, gratuitously, without any provocation, and then when I point this out, they start accusing me of having a persecution complex, as Lastort did on another thread.
But when you attack the messenger, rather than deal with the issues, then your ideas on the issues shrink that much more into marginality.
Meanwhile, I would dispute the notion that my labels attached to Kerry are flawed. This thread was started by someone labeling Kerry a "loser" and a "quitter."
Those labels, in my view, are not helpful. However my labels do describe him pretty well.
"Smooth talking." Can anyone dispute that this guy has a fantastic bedside manner, a soothing oratorical delivery? Whether there's policy depth there...well, that's another issue.
"Multi-millionaire." Can anyone dispute this guy has tons of dough? Unlike Kerry, he didn't marry into it, and started humble, but he's loaded.
"Protectionist." Can anyone dispute that this guy is anti-free trade, anti-Nafta? That he is riding the emotional hobby horse of jobs lost to....well, to the demon of globalisation?
"Trial Lawyer" Can anyone dispute that this is how he made his millions? Taking his 1/3rd cut of damages from suing companies and businesses?
He may be more than this, but he certainly IS this, to a considerable extent.
But some on here, rather than face the reality of who Edwards is, would rather take shots at me personally, and not ever address the arguments and ideas and descriptions I offer.
as opposed to the entire republican party, who rolled over and played dead to the bush adminstration. a buffoon like W running unopposed? those are the losers. they don't even try to improve the piece-of-crap leadership of their political party. quit before they started.
Are you even an American citizen?
Lyndon Baines ask that you not group him w/ the incompetent failure from Crawford.
That’s the last thing Kerry needs, someone who thought Geraldine Ferrara would make a good VP. Every dem wants Edwards to balance the ticket, give the people what they want & quit f-ing around.
while Bob Graham might be able to swing his home state, Edwards could swing all 19 states up for grabs and make a play for LA, TN, FL, AK, GA, & WV. No US pres has been elected w/o 5 southern states. i don't think that's true anymore because of Clinton/Gore big state strategy that nearly gave Gore the Wh w/o a single southern state. We've seen that a Kerry/Edwards ticket would best Dubya, i think it may be an electoral landslide if Edwards can use his slick charm in those 6 states above.
