Until we end this two defensive mid lineup we will not win anything.

    Sparky98 and firefan2001 repped this.

Perhaps y'all remember how effective our 3 DM 4-3-1-2 formation was when we were hot toward the end of 2011.
The whole reason he wanted out of NJ was because he doesn't like playing out wide. He said he'd rather ride the pine than start out wide. HTIOT also found some statistical evidence that he's more effective in the middle.

So Rolfe out wide and Lindpere to the middle?

But I assume the odd men out would be Nyarko and not the DP player. (then again they did bench Puppo before they shipped him out).

    If I Had to Guess:

    ------------------Big Mac-----------
    ---------Rolfe-----------------------
    Flaco-------Lindpere-------Nyarko
    -----------Pause/Pardo-------------
---Same as last year in the Back---

    3 center mids:
    Rolfe is a withdrawn forward/ACM
Lindpere is the box to box guy
    Pause starts at DCM
Pardo comes in almost every game depending on game situation.

For example if the fire are winning in the second half, Pardo in for Big Mac. Pardo plays next to Pause. Rolfe and Lindpere push forward slightly.

Fire losing, Pardo on for Anibaba or Sega. Rolfe becomes full second forward. Lindpere moves to ACM and Pardo moves into Lindpere's spot.

Not what I would do, but I'm guessing this is what we'll see.

What are the chances that Pause plays fullback this season?

Wouldn't really make sense. FBs need to get forward more, and then should be able to play crosses, which he can't. They also tend to be fast, which he isn't. His best attribute, I'm told, is his ability to read the play and break up attacks in the middle of the field. He can't do that at FB. Even though I don't like Anibabba at RB (better at CB), I'd rather keep him there than move Pause.
