During the USA Honduras game. Also he wasted my friends time who worked for a local soccer shop; there's more but I o not want to go there.

Corona had a goal and an assist. Kid was class.

Gotta think both Mexico and the US will have interest in him for the U-23s at least. Wouldn't be at all surprised if El Tri called him into their Copa squad.

No, he's actually right on. What kind of place doesn't let you in if your a wearing a Honduran jersey? Lame.

He was totally right to bash that bar.

Just because zeigler recognizes where the usmnt is talent wise and is realistic, doesn't mean he's a bad sports writer.

And im sorry, but that place, so called bar is lame.

Good job xolos, ill try and catch a game sometime soon.

Nice article, in English, from the oft-discussed Ziegler. I don't live in SD so I don't have a dog in the fight over his quality of work. But it's nice to be able to consistently read game reports and features from an English-speaking American newspaper covering a Yank Abroad so I'm not going to complain.

Also, and FAR more importantly, it is amazingly awesome that Joe Benny played such a pivotal role in getting Los Xolos promoted. A goal and an assist in the biggest game of his life? That's a kid who doesn't shrink from the moment and if I were Bob Bradley, I'd be looking at this kid long and hard.

(And, we know he'd get a nice reference from Bob's buddy Bruce Arena.)

I'm not saying JBC should be on the Gold Cup roster - though I wouldn't freak out of he were - but for friendlies coming up soon after, he should be in the mix.

    Also eligible for the Olympics.

As for Zeigler, I like him.

As for O'Brien's, I like it.

There is nothing in that article that indicates Mexico is interested in Corona, only that El Salvador is.

The kid, however, sees the Mexican NT as his priority:

He would have been better than Rogers. Though, from the comments above, it is not obvious that he would have accepted the call up.

In Mexico he has some serious competition for that winger spot. And even for that U.S, Gatt and Gyau seem to be progressing. He could have trouble making either sides Olympic team, not to mention the full teams.

I hope he makes some National team want him this coming season.

Well besides Gatt and Gyau the olympic team doesn't really have other speedy wingers....well maybe Shea.

He said he's open to both. I believe BShredder can back me up on this.

He told me he was open to both last year, when he was in the lower leagues. Things always change. My guess is that the first to ask him will probably win.

Bob's penchant for calling in a ton of players could help us scoop him up. Hopefully that nets still being cast wide, especially since our pool of finishers is painfully thin.
