Well, he aint in augsburg yet... there are still charity things to attend http://www.safc.com/news/club-news/2012/november/show-racism-the-red-card
Seemed a little more appropriate. Our KPA's have really got to do a better job picking their situations.
Some more strong indications Ji is headed to Augsburg: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...ted-in-sunderland-striker-ji-dong-won?cc=5901
hopefully if MON is/isnt canned, jdw still gets to escape. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...n-o'neill-resignation-reports-quashed?cc=5901
This confirms the rumors. Augsburg director openly admitted to Augsburg press of his interest in Ji. I guess they've contacted him but didn't put in an offer yet. http://sports.media.daum.net/worldsoccer/news/breaking/view.html?newsid=20121127094651189
anyone remember the other clubs that were rumored to be vying for our tuna with sunderland last year? i remember hodori arguing about the significance of a large transfer fee and there being some issue with chunnam dragons and JDW.
I'm not sure, but I do remember a lot of us being happy about his move to Sunderland. The only gripe was the transfer saga between Sunderland and Chunnam (buy-out fee vs market value).
Both PSV and Sunderland fired their then managers. So he could have been in the same situation either place.
Actually, no. PSV didn't match Sunderland's offer (1 mill vs 3.5 mill). https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/ji-dong-won-to-sunderland-a-f-c.1746715/page-20
at the time... no brainer move to sunderland imo. If it was like 1.5 sunderland i'd go to psv. 2 mil... i'd think about it. Keep in mind Bruce brought him there not Martin oneil. JDW is unlucky.
You can be football smart and talk about development but you can't take away $$ and the dream of playing in the PL. if you had his contract in front of you i doubt you'd sign up with PSV.
Eh, from what I know, every Korean footballer who has ever played with PSV has gone on to play in the Premiership... on top Premier League teams. It's not the means of being football smarts or development. It's picking a manager, situation, and system in which you can fit well in. Every dream without a well-laid plan will fail.
