I think the point was that in the past the budget was significantly smaller. Despite the small budget and player pool available to the Impact in MLS, in the USL, it was significantly worse.
It took Nowak 6 years of MLS coaching before he mastered the art of taking kickbacks from agents. Jesse has a ways to go.
Nesta better be the coach 'cause he certainly can't play anymore. He's past it. For every "cool, calm, collected" play he made in the back, he was beaten by some pansy ass, hard working MLS stiff just hustling to get to the ball first. Throwing him into his first gig as a coach in MLS doesn't really seem like the answer to me, but who knows.
It has been talked a little about here in mtl. Problem with Nesta is that his english is very poor so they would probably need an co-head-coach that can translate his words to non-italian players. They would probably use Biello with Nesta. Problem with that is that if both head coach coach don't see eye-to-eye it can lead to tensisons.
If L'Impact want an available Italian coach, they can always get Alberto Malesani. He's won the UEFA Cup, and he worked with Di Vaio at Bologna when he saved them from relegation. He speaks good English from his time spent in the Netherlands working at a camera factory. Also, he's batshit crazy, as this press conference will attest to, which is always fun. (Caution: salty language, cazzo!) L'Impact should, nay, MUST hire Alberto Malesani.
Do they know that they could probably just hire a translator, rather than a co-head coach? A language barrier is an awfully stupid reason to do something as awfully stupid as having two head coaches.
No, he got fired for reasons that didn't involve sucking. Apparently, he made some front office enemies while at the Union. However, yes, he was taking kickbacks/bungs in the transfer of players, and even admitted so during his lawsuit with the Union.
I just mentionned what was discussed in the medias here in mtl. We really don't have any idea right now what Saputo wants to do....
Marsch clearly didn't want to go along with Joey's money laundering scheme. They'll find him floating in the St. Lawrence with Beluga whales knoshing on his privates in a few days.
