I used to babysit for the lady down the street. That stopped when she married Cork Walgreen and moved to Lake Forest. I can say from experience that Cork and Kathy are two of the nicest people in the world and Id love to see them involved with the Fire.
Corona has been the TV sponsor for the last 6 or 7 years, there not new. But Walgreens is a new board sponsor, that would be a excellent jersey sponsor. But with Guppy behind the controls he'll sign a 3 year deal worth 3 million dollars.
I think Guppy should get the 'Fire' to sponsor the jersey for the remainder of the season. ....(1) the name is already on the front of the jersey ....(2) it's tradition ....(3) John could haggle a few grand out of the deal (???) ....(4) I already have some If JG can make that happen... and then bring back the third kit to spite himself, I'd be convinced, 100%, that he's the man for the job.
So you're comparing Air Bud jerseys to Inter Milan? Yeah, this doesn't make your argument look strong. It makes you look like a retard for googling the "Air Bud" jersey. If you would have asked which looked more professional: Chicago Fire or Xango, the answer would be Chicago Fire. If I did not know who Inter Milan was, I would ask how the team Pireli is doing in the standings. Just because teams in Europe have sponsors on their jerseys doesn't make it better than someone who markets their own team name. Now, I understand the economics of doing so, and if the Fire can pull in a couple million, to pay for another DP, by all means go for it. But I'll still be sporting my white stripe with "Fire" jersey.
Yeah. FIRE > Pirelli* A hundred times over. (*or any sponsor, especially all the gambling ones in EPL)
i'd actually prefer the fronts blank over anything. but sponsorship is a reality, and we'll likely have one from next year for some time to come.
So you're comparing Air Bud jerseys to Inter Milan? Yeah, this doesn't make your argument look strong. It makes you look like a retard for googling the "Air Bud" jersey. This made me pee a little. and then i googled it to see if it would come up. I'm torn on the sublect personally. On one hand it could look cool if it were the right sponser, plus 3mil doesnt hurt. on the other hand, yea I'd really hate to explain that i dont support a McDonalds soccer team (used purely for example), But some people really support a team called the RedBulls. By the way Could RBNY get a shirt sponser? Now that would make anyones head explode.
{sending karmic message to the universe} Not Mcdonalds. Not McDonalds, Not McDonalds. Id rather it be a promo for a new Michael Bay movie than McDonalds. The product is less ************, and thats saying something.
Dawned on me last night.............it's going to be McDonald's, but it's not going to be McDonalds. I'm betting on Chipotle as the jersey sponsor for next season.
Really? Didn't know that. Well, even still, i think they may be the sponsor. They were sponsoring something last night.
Makes sense. But they are marketing at the Fire games for some reason. Maybe they think being associated w/ Blanco lends them some Mexican authenticity. Anyway, my reaction came last night under the false impression that they were still part of McD's which is local in Chicago. So maybe Kraft Cheese Wiz is more likely.
Yea, I'd like to be sure about this. However If this is true I wouldnt be totally unhappy, I'd still like to see Big Red.
Chipolte was associated with Ticket promotions in 2006 as well. The fact that they're involved with the Fire isn't a strong enough correlation to say they'll be a jersey sponsor.
Doubtful. I don't think their shareholders would appreciate any big money deals like that right now if they don't have clear return potential. Check the ticker, they took it on the chin last week.
Watching the Red Bull New York v. L.A. Galaxy game tonight, it reminded me that the Fire are still "60-90" days away from announcing their jersey sponsor. Also, they are doing a little piece in honor of Cobi Jones' final home game and they flashed an early picture of him on the national team and who was next to him on the field in front of the goal, none other than the Fire's own Frank Klopas! That brings back memories. Frank is still 11th all time on the National Team's scoring record, with 12 goals in only 40 games (the second best strike rate among the leading scorers, second only to Landon's 34 in 94 games).
