    He had an up and down career in Europe. Nothing great, but not a failure either. Lost his starting spot a few times due to bad play.

    He has been an average player who was able to show that a little bit of effort goes a long way into making a respectable career out of yourself. The difference between someone like him and Reynoso is that Reynoso likes being the comfortable captain of Chivas and the "tendedor de cama" de los tecnicos, mientras que Maza probo su fortuna y pudo jugar en Europa de una forma regular.

    A lot more players from Mexico could do what he did but many don't want to leave their comfort zone and the inflated pay they get in Mexico (not to mention the low taxes).
