He did not notice Hirayama could be useful for the team. His profile is unique. You guys are crazy about Havenaar but he hasn't done anything compared to Hirayama. He's a lazy bastard, but hugely talented. I hope he smashes everything with Tokyo this season.

Havenaar (two years younger) still hasn't got a chance, which is what many here advocate for him. Then we'll judge.

I won't be surprised if Hirayama has a great season... in J2.

Of course. Gotta love guys like Konno, Ishikawa or Hirayama, decreasing their chances to be called in the national team just to make up for their past mistakes and help their club regaining his status. Still, that's another year wasted for Hirayama.

They would have better sent him for one year in Fukuoka, and play Shigematsu for 30+ games, and see what he's got.

Hmmm ... I think Tokyo is doing the right thing. Hirayama is a proven value and that is why you need in J2. There's not time to develop young players, you just have to come back in the J1.

Shigematsu will be comfortable in Fukuoka. Nagasato and Okubo are inexplicably gone, so the competition is not very important ...

I would have preferred Hirayama to Shigematsu at Fukuoka. Hopefully Shigematsu will come good and prove me wrong, but having lost Jumbo I thought we needed a more like-for-like player in terms of a physical presence.
Having had a season of aiming long balls at Jumbo's head for most of the games we are going to need a total change in tactics having signed quite a few more short players.

I think Shigematsu is likely to be starting the season on the bench. For the start of the season Jogo will probably play as striker again with Sho Naruoka brought in from Jubilo to play behind him. That leaves the 2 wing spots vacated by Nagasato and Kudo to be filled with 2 from Yusuke Tanaka, Matsuura (signed from Jubilo), Hideya Okamoto, and Suzuki Jun.
My guess is that Shigematsu will play a substitute role for one of Jogo or Naruoka along with Yutaka Takahashi and Masato Yoshihara.

    Awesome vid.
Nice to see Kakitani (great goal) and Morishima scoring. Reppin' generation 2007.
BTW, at 5:42, I understood why Hiroshima let Stoyanov go.

Did they make him captain? It's true though, Sasaki had the beating of him twice in those highlights - once in the foot race and twice when he didn't cut out the cross and Usui scored.

Where can I find highlights of the 1st round? Currently I've found only Nagoya - Yokohama and Avispa - Albirex. Where's the rest?

Some of these goals are hilarious but some of these are beautiful. That's a Kagawa-esque goal by Manabu Saito.

That was some of the lamest excuse for capoeira I have ever seen.
    It was like a parody.
