The only reason I could see Sharbini happening is because he'd be dirt cheap and because he's a wide midfielder to provide an actual winger back up at the winger spots as opposed to sticking Dempsey or Gylfi out there.

    Have the Belhanda rumors died?

Nothing on Belhanda, but all the talk is that Holtby has been offered a contract by us and the club is talking to his agent in Qatar (where Holtby is training with Shalke).

Evening Standard: Redknapp wants to take Livermore to QPR, probably loan-to-buy.

Le Parisien: Newcastle United, Tottenham, Juventus and Monaco are battling to sign Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko.

Bild: Lewis Holtby has lined up imminent talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a free transfer in the summer.

This would be a nice signing for the future as well as the present. Holtby is highly sought after by upper-tier clubs in Germany.

That's great news. I'm assuming that the medical that it's subject to will be in June or July?

We can use the 25m reserve for Moutinho to sign a striker.

Read today that Spurs are nearing a deal to send Gomes and $15m to Internacional for Leandro Damiao.

That would be a steal, IMO.

Ade is going to play in the African Cup of Nations so getting a striker in is needed.

Bookies have slashed the odds on Damiao joining us, seems a bid has definitely gone in. 4th window lucky?

Moutinho still wanted, but if he can't be signed the club may bring Holtby in this window.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas dismisses suggestions of a move for 23-year-old Internacional striker Leandro Damiao. "He's a player that is highly rated in the market, and it's unlikely that he will play for Tottenham."

He's also said we can cope without Ade.

I'd agree, we did already for the first quarter of the season anyways... but can we cope without Ade and Defoe? what if Defoe gets a red card or an injury?

a reasonable 3rd premier league level striker is needed. doesnt have to be a 20m+ stud, but someone capable of filling in and being respected as at least some potential to score up top.

It depends on what other moves are made as well though. If another midfielder and or winger is brought in, Dempsey would be free to fill in up front if needed

guys ... AVB talks shit to the media, just like the rest of 'em. he also said we'd be fine going into the season starting harry kane, despite clearly having no intentions of doing so. none of it means anything.

Alvaro Negredo, possibly. Sevilla desperate to sell and the club were after him a year ago.
