its scary how well we remember the simpsons as a society. remember when Bart went to live with Tony Hawk and the family had to turn their place into a hostel for European travelers and Homer had to sing 99 Red Balloons for them in german? that was awesome hope he can break in tho!
George played 78 minutes for Nurnberg II against Bayern Munich II. He didn't score; the game ended 2-2.
George played with the quasi-first team today. Nurnberg played Fenerbahce in a friendly and lost 2-1. The team had some of the usual first team players but also a lot of player were rested. Chandler did not play. George entered the game in the 78th minute. http://www.fcn.de/news/artikel/champions-league-kulisse-beim-club/
Im not sure if this has been known/talked about yet. But apparently Jann is on the First Team roster? After some random google searches fueled by boredom, I found a few sites that have him on there. http://stadioncheck.de/tag/jann-george/ http://www.worldfootball.net/teams/1-fc-nuernberg/ And according to weltfussball.de he hasnt appeared with Nurenburg II since the 14th. -Where he went 80 mins in a 5-0 beating by Karlsruher SC II (Which came after the 1st team friendly against Fenerbahce)
He sometimes gets listed on the first team roster on sites because he signed a first team contract. Still, he's trying to recover. From everything I've heard, he's has the ability to become a very good player. Fortunately for him, he looks to be recovering well after his ACL injury last fall.
Nurnberg today played a friendly against FSV Erlangen-Bruck with a few first team regulars (not away on international duty) and a lot of second teamers. Jann George scored 2 goals in a 5-0 win for FCN. He apparently impressed Dieter Hecking. Here is the link to the article with some quotes from Hecking and a picture of George in action http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/fc-nuernberg/die-naechsten-draengeln-schon-19756180.bild.html
There was never any doubt about his natural talent. I think the would have made the first team last season... but then a long came the knee injury in November. There were concerns about his recover and if he was going to return to the same player he was beforehand. The news is very positive in that regard.
George scored his first goal of the season for Nürnberg II today. Apparently he was playing in the midfield.
That is pretty cool that he is scoring goals or whatever, but does he hustle and hold the ball up well?
It's hard for anyone to see Regionalliga games, but as far as hold-up play goes, it's worth noting that lately he's been playing attacking midfield instead of forward.
Jann scored again for the 2nd team today. I believe this is his 4th goal in the Regionalliga. Making a case for the next u23 camp?
