Anyone got news on him? He was meant to be the next big thing, but he has broken his leg twice, and he is only 19 I think. He plays at leicster with patrick Kisnorbo.

Has had a few niggles this season, but other than that hasn't had too bad a run in terms of appearances, a few starts but mostly used as a sub for the last 20 minutes or so

    Delayed explaination...

Previous ownership decided we didn't need a reserve team, so he basically had no fitness after recovering from the second break and Rob Kelly's team selections were bizarre and crap (hence his sacking) - he's clearly the best central midfielder we've got. He's playing again with Worthington now though, and pretty good. Send us another 4 or 5 please!

Last couple of games he really seems to have cracked into the first team and playing really well, good on him. Don't know if he should be looking at premiership clubs yet or get a good season of first team under his belt first

Weso played the season opener against blackpool on the weekend, he played the whole game, and by the sounds of it he was amongst the chances. this article suggests he could and should have scored at least one goal.

at least he is fit and playing first team football,

and getting himself INTO scoring positions.

WESO OVERNIGHT!!! to put them through to the next stage of the carling cup. GREAT WORK!! looks like it could be his breakthrough year. lest just hope he stays fit.

    Just another thing on him:

i was reading another forum and in the blackpool game he started on the left wing, apparently he was pretty poor there, but then moved into his prefered central mid role and was really good.

thats interesting that he would play on the wing, or even be considered for the wing, they must have alot of injuries!

You realise that our only two left wingers are a mediocre 18-year-old midget who doesn't exactly put the work in and another youngster we just signed from Reading, Hayes, who has looked okay, but I don't think is fully fit? Not so much injuries as a dramatic lack of any left-sided players.

Thanks act smiley and you guys. Keep up the 'Weso-Watch.' Indeed, as Aussie Red suggested, hopefully this could be his breakthrough year, though ofcourse, sheeesh, we need to settle - it's only been a couple games

But the past few seasons it almost seems he's been made out of glass, especially his legs, so a couple games seems terrific so far, which is saying something about his injury plagued past :( .

Back to getting our hopes up though - The Olyroos awaits him. I'd love to see him in the G&G atlast. Hopefully he can help us qualify for Beijing, during this final stage of qualifiers, the next couple months. ;)

What a potential gun Midfield our Olyroos has: Patafta, Troisi, Vidosic, Kilkenny, Wesolowski, Stuart Musialik, Nick Ward...

he was not included in the 20 man squad against iraq, but honestly i would prefer to make major inroads with his while he is having a fitness and form patch.

i have hard some people saying they are concerned with the next generation of socceroos, but i believe they can be just as good as the current generation. we have some very good up and coming players!!

True on both accounts. Weso needs to keep playing for LCFC to cement his position/ form/ fitness. As for our future prospects 2010 is stil a worry as these guys will still be quite young, but after that we are looking good. The dissapointing thing is that it is the generation that got us to the U17 WC final a few years back are the ones that aren't giving us much now.

I agree guys. BTW when I said the G&G/Olyroos awaits, I didn't mean immediately, I mean 'if' he can sustain fitness and form for the next few months atleast.

Indeed Gold is the Colour, I find there is a gap. But I don't necessarily blame the quality of the players themselves, though that can always be a factor and some generations are better than others.

But I actually see that the transition our Domestic Football was in circa 03 to 05 has affected a generation of younger players. I'm not having at go at the much needed transition to the A-League, which involved the unfourtunate scrapping of the National Youth League (Which every man and his dog knows needs to return, it's just a matter of money). I estimate this has affected the players born somewhere between 1984 and 1986? Even now with the limited spots available for Under 20 players, you get guys missing out, though many can argue now that the league standard is starting to define itself, more of the 'most talented' under 20s are getting their shot, especially as fortunately/or unfortunately some of the cream of this crop exposed in the A-League, ala Vidosic and Dilevski, are leaving for overseas.

There has been complaint from National Coaches, Postecoglou, Baan and Arnold about how some of these guys have little match practice and some/many may not even have clubs. This can certainly affect our depth, and shows a lack of opportunities for many our young 17-20yo players.

Circling back to the 1984-1986 factor, I think many of those players in those Joeys and Young Socceroos Squads back 03, 04, 05 and even 06, may struggle to get into the A-League, especially as they're 20 or older now. Which can be fine, as not everyone may make the grade, though some some may warrant a go. Also ofcourse because of that black hole that was 18 months between the last NSL season and the first A-League season, many had either struggled to find a club or maybe played state league or something for a while. But an important period of time was lost for some of these guys. I also notice that not many from Carl Valeri's (1984), Mark Milligan's (1985) and Jacob Timpano's (1986) generations, being that prevelant at Olyroos level or at A-League level. I think that gap between the NSL and A-League can partially explain that, aswell as the 'maybe that generation lacks depth' factor.

As some have vaugely alluded, the first generation to fully benefit from the A-League and National Reform will be the guys born 1987-1988 onwards. I notice the Olyroos for instance has a few guys like Williams, Patafta, Velaphi, Troisi, Spiranovic etc.. attached or even important members of the Olyroos squad, even though by next year they'll only be 20-21. Also the 1988-1990 age group = the current batch of Under 20s that The A-League clubs are looking at to fill their required 3 under 20 slots.

I just get the impression, that the generation of 1988-1990 will be our next generation have a major impact on our senior team. We may not have many born between 1984-1987 making future Socceroos teams, but the generation lead by the likes of Patafta, David Williams, Troisi, Spiranovic and even Goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis (1990), may form the nucleus of our teams circa 2012-14 onwards. I'm not saying they're the calibur of Barcelono '92, but they could well be our strongest crop since then, and filling the main contigent of our next generation of Socceroos.

Good post - repped. Agreed with why the current 23-26yo generation (think last olympics) has dissapointed, unfortunately they were the ones shafted by the changes that have occured - only Wilkshire and maybe Beauchamp has really made the "next step" into full Socceroo consideration (albeit as subs), although many would say that Carle has deserved to as well.

If we look at who are the future "stars" to replace the current Socceroos, in goals we are talking Federici and Boutzianis, defence is Milligan and Spiranovic, midfield (apart from maybe Carle) is a heap from Troisi, Wesolowski, Kennedy, Patafta, Sarkies etc, and up front it's Vidosic, Burns, Djite and others - all under 23. Not all of these will make the grade, of course, but there is a definate gap between say Bresciano and Culina (both 27) or even Wilkshire and Beauchamps who are both 26, to the Olyroos. The generation older than that seemed to get lost in the transition from SA to FFA and NSL to A-League, which is a pitty as they perform so well at their U17 world cup.

just some more news on weso.

Leicester City defeated watford 4-1 on the weekend. a great result for them. Jimbo wesolowski did not score but apparently he still played a great game. as well as kisnorbo i might add.

after the game this article was posted on a leicester city forum.

    Clemence Praises Battling Foxes
Posted on: Sat 25 Aug 2007

Club captain Stephen Clemence was quick to show his delight following Saturday's 4-1 demolition of Watford at the Walkers Stadium.

But the midfielder also urged his team-mates to now demonstrate that level of consistency which can propel the Foxes up the Championship table this term.

He said: "It was nice to get that first league victory and to see the stadium jumping," admitted Clemence.

"We did have a bit of the rub of the green but you need that in football and, with it being so hot out there, the lads really worked hard for the win. It was great to see those goals flying in.

"It was nice to get three points after a tough couple of weeks but today we showed a few people how we can play and now it's all about consistency."

Iain Hume, DJ Campbell, Alan Sheehan and Mark de Vries grabbed the goals but Clemence was full of praise for midfield dynamo James Wesolowski.

He added: "Jimbo is a young lad and he's impressed me since he came here.

"He wants to learn and I've given him bits of advice but his feet are firmly on the ground.

"He gives 110% every game and loves playing football.

"Jimbo is probably the player who has impressed me the most since I came to the club."

Next up for the Foxes are East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest in the second round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday and Clemence is relishing the contest.

"The team is starting to gel as a unit and that's important.

"The hard work is starting to pay off but it's only one win and we have got this big game on Tuesday night which we are all looking forward to.

"We know what it means to people in these parts and we won't need any lifting. It's a big game and we must be fully prepared.

"There is no point winning today and then losing on Tuesday and then on Saturday at Plymouth."

I think the partnership and also, by the sounds of the article, friendship, between Weso and Clemence is great for us. Today I thought they ran the midfield and didn't let Watford have there way at all.

The bonus of having such a seasoned pro such as Kishishev on the bench can only add to the positives.

the Leicster fans are really getting behind him. they are full of praise of his performances and are saying that the team should start to be built around him along with a few of their other players.

he is really starting to put in some really good consistent performances.

so good to see once again for him, the olyroos and the socceroos.
