Jack McInerney. When should he get a NT call-up and when should he head to Europe?

7 goals in 10 matches so far this season. Early favorite for the Golden Boot. Think any chance he gets a call up with the Nats over the next year or should he be content to wait? What are your feelings about him going to Europe? Another year or 2 in MLS might prepare him for it? Should he try for a move this summer to a Eredivisie or Ligue 1?

GC call would be nice. Not ready for qualifiers. Need to be more patient.

As for Europe, Holland please, next winter. Just scoring in MLS doesn't make one a good player or mean they're really learning the game. He's been impressive, but to really improve tactically and round out the rest of his game he'll have to go where the game is taught, which is preferably Holland.

And given his age, he could make some huge strides over the next few years if he goes to a place which is known for development, which certainly isn't where he's currently playing.

Should ABSOLUTELY be at the Gold Cup. That is a perfect spot for him to get his shot. He performs, you then consider him for the qualifier team.

Imo the answer to the first question is the Gold Cup, answer to the second question for me is probably the end or maybe the middle of next season.

He should be a lock at this point for the Gold Cup... which means that he probably will be excluded in favor of someone like Steve Lenhart if we all know Klinsmann well enough. If he does make it to the Gold Cup squad, I still think he should hang on in MLS under after the World Cup.

Could very much increase his value that way. It's a gamble, but could be fruitful.

He only had several friendly appearances with the U23s. Didn't do anything of consequence.

The forwards on the most recent U23 qualifying campaign were Agudelo, Bunbury, Boyd, and Tony Taylor.

That was before McInerney had hit his form, though.

In terms of Summer campaigns I've got: Dempsey, Herc, buddle, bruin, JackMac, Wondo, Boyd, Altidore, EJ

JackMac would fit in the GC Group of Bruin, Wondo, and Buddle

Every situation is different for every player. I agree with the guys who say that Europe isn't an automatic ticket to success. What matters most for a player...especially a young player... is to be in a situation where they are wanted, valued, and can received proper training. I believe that for right now he's not ready for an upgrade given how he is just now making his case with the Union. Agudelo, on the other hand, is a guy who needs to try his luck abroad as I think he has already reached his ceiling in MLS.

Completely agree on Jack. Agudelo I'm not sure about. Kid needs consistent playing time desperately.

The guy was being a dbag and pretending like JK is so incompetent that he calls up the likes of Lenhart and almost criminally overlooks players such as Jack Mac. Not sure why he's pretending this or what he's basing it off but it doesn't matter right?

As most everyone is pointing out the Gold Cup seems to be his time to shine for the USA.

After watching a bunch of his highlights I have to say this kid is impressive. He has personality, he has cheeky back heel fancy goals. He is also very good in the air.
I cant wait to see what he can do in July.

Could be the best product from the South since Clint Mathis.

I hope not... But did any of us predict that Connor Lade or Tony Beltran would be called up?

    Klinsmann likes his WTF picks.

No harm with one or two WTF picks on every roster. Just trying to expand the pool prior to fixture congestion........................................

Kinda like Goodson being part of the WC roster and Bedoya almost forcing his way into the WC roster.
