Right, and I stated that Villa takes those chances by instinct and will score that way. He over thought way too much there and consequently screwed that chance up.
Well, he can't do that on Tuesday because we won't open Milan's defense many times like we did there. Any sitters and it probably means the end of our European adventure this season.
Great, looks as if we can't even beat the team stranded at the bottom of the table, at home, without Messi.
Some of the fan groups have called for a 'fan strike' for today's game (i.e. no singing for the duration of the match) in protest of the club not backing the fans in the flare-throwing incident vs. LPB.
Play Villa out wide and Alexis in the center against Milan. It's the only hope we have of getting something out of these two.
We haven't had such a free cross and a free header like that in a long time. We probably won't get any chance like that vs. Milan.
1-0 at the half. Alexis is playing his way into the lineup for Tuesday at the moment. He looks hungry, and he was confident enough to try that little flick pass with the outside of his boot to Villa right at the end. Villa should have had two at least. Fabregas, he is the one who is playing his way out of the lineup on Tuesday. He should have kept running through on goal a few minutes ago when Villa brought the ball down at the top of the box. He looks like he's not on the same page. Thiago started brightly, but has kind of faded. I think Adriano is playing well too. Who do you guys think have played well?
Alexis has been a beast today. Not a coincidence when he plays more of an inside central role. Honestly, he's at least a few times better playing there than being stuck out wide. We need to play him there more often and surely results will come out of it. He did well there last season when playing just in front of Messi, especially in the important CL games and the Clasicos.
Very good 45 from Alves, too. edit: got the assist, of course. But could've had another assist and a goal himself (which came after one of his own dangerous crosses came back to him).
