Pedro's goal almost looked like a setplay: move Messi to the left knowing that half the defense would realign around him. Release Pedro. Goal.

Yeah, you nailed the official positions. I still think that they play a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 4 midfielders plus Messi dropping deep with all mids but buckets having license to go forward plus the 2 fullbacks. Anyways great to finally get a starting 11.

Yeah, we've suffered worse with no call and frankly will need the call better in a tighter game. Part of me wanted to see Messi cede the penal to Pedro for the hat trick but then Messi has 91 to go to top last season so...

Camp Nou is so quiet even Van Persie can hear the whistle. From Manchester.

No "decent time" available anymore, as the match is won.

Well, not decent in terms of critical to Barca's success in this particular game but decent in terms of amount of time to get his legs back and show Tito something.

If that Messi pass would've reached the Pale One we'd be celebrating #5

Sorry for not posting more during that first half, I was just in awe of our performance. Best first half display in a long, long time. And it comes in a derbi in the first game post winter break, which makes it all the more impressive.

Delighted for Pedro that he is getting goals again, hopefully he continues this form for the rest of the season.

Let's hope for some more goals and no injuries in this second half.

Looking at the subs bench, Thiago and Song would be the other two I'd like to see most, then Song. Say Villa, Thiago, and Song on and rest Cesc, Xavi, and Busquets.

IF Puyol wants a break after the elbow he suffered in the Catalunya friendly then get Masch on for him.

We should have had a corner and Baena should have seen red just now. He already had a yellow.

That's not fair, Espanyol have brought on the Phanthomof the Opera.

    Good to see Villa on.
