Pedro just kicked a Celta defender in the face.

Uh oh, Messi holding his right leg.... looks like either a knock or a strain.

Messi and Iniesta nice build-up, not Messi's night (to score) though...

Messi walks himself off the pitch, puts himself back on. That kid is a beast.

Pedro doing what we should've been doing more of all along: taking a shot from outside.

    Final whistle. 3-1

    3-1 FT.

Solid team performance. Glad that apparently the Messi injury was nothing major.

the only one happy about this result (other than barca fans) is ronaldo, as he will likely take over the goal lead and cruise from there, based on how messi looks as a new dad

Barcelona and Barcelona fans might feel ok with a match that Barcelona won.

Messi seemed to have his mind elsewhere during the game, I've no idea what could have been distracting him.

Thank f**k he wasn't seriously injured.

Well we earned three points....and agreed with the fact that we could use more shots from the outside. Funny how the entire match tapered off towards the end, I thought there would be at least a couple 2nd half goals.

Thank goodness Messi was able to carry on after the knock. I felt that Iniesta, Alba and Villa played best today and picked the team up. Time for the team to go to Glasgow.

Thank f**k? I'm pretty sure a f**k around 9 months ago is what led to his feeling distracted today. :p

all i'm saying is that being a new father will change your priorities, he may not be focused on being the best anymore, and his play could drop off to more "normal" levels

We don't know if it's nothing yet. Barca had already made all 3 subs. He walked for the rest of the game.

Becoming a father changes your view on life, true. But based on one match - in which Messi wasn't great but not horrible either - to suggest he might not be focused in the future is just naive imo.

I mean, I think we should support Barca and like the result when we win, especially when we've played in a way that makes us deserved winners. IMO it's disrespectful to feel disappointed after a win, like you're so much better than the rest that you think even after winning you feel you deserved more. Of course, we can always hope for the team to play better, but that's something else. (/rant)

Lets not get carried away with the 'Messi will be distracted now he's a dad', most footballers seem to become parents at an early age, most of them cope ok. Obviously the first few weeks your mind is elsewhere, after that it's business as normal. In fact if he is like us normal dads he'll look forward to getting back to work.

I hope they leave Messi at home when the team goes to Glasgow. Even a draw against Celtic should nearly lock up the group so no need to risk him if there is any injury at all. It is hard to ever get him to take a rest so this seems as good an opportunity as any.
