Seen lots of discussion that we can't win the title because of our defense. No team with such a poor defense has ever won the league etc. However:

8 of the last 9 league winners lead the league in scoring.

This article left me buzzing. http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2014/03/liverpool-lfc-southampton/

    A couple lines:

Totally agree, almost no point in discussing the minutiae of team selection, I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

    Imagine May.

10 cup finals in a row...better meditate before every match then.

Can we bring back Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso? We'll need them if we're gonna play 10 straight Istanbuls.

If we pick up a Rafa-esque 28 points from our final ten games, that puts us on 87 points. Only twice in the last ten years would that have won the title.
BUT, with citeh and chel$ki both visiting Anfield, after we beat them both, we are only one better result away from overtaking them.
If citeh doesn't win both games in hand, a win at anfield and matching the rest of the results would likely see us top them (unless their goal scoring picks up again and they top us on GD).

It should be fun. I think our game vs the plastics and city will be indicative of whether we're in it for the title or not.

I think we can beat both at Anfield.

Agree on both points, we are in a very, very strong position to make the top 4, and honestly I will be content with that. But we are also in a decent position to make a title run if we maintain form.

I just keep having this reoccurring dream that it's March and we are in 2nd place. Oh wait :)

Sunderland are still in the FA Cup. Match postponed.

Not sure content is the word I use if we finish 4th considering our current position and form.

Anything but first will always be met with a bit of disappointment but all things considered a CL spot would be fine-bloody-tastic.

I miss watching the CL with Liverpool in it.

Just a bit worried we'll get another Chelsea-Man City sequence in three days, again.

The current fixture schedule has us playing City on Apr. 13 and chelski on Apr. 27.

Gunners are at spurs, chavs and the ev and have city at home. Now they are clear favorites for the FA cup.

I'll feel like we bottled it if we scrape into 4th.

That said, I think we are going to be in it for the title right to the end.

I'd also be a bit disappointed. With where we are now, I'm expecting top 3 and auto-qualification. No need for us to back into 4th then draw like Schalke or Napoli in the playoff round of the CL.

That being said, I'll be happy just to be back in the CL, for sure.

Ah, good. Hadn't checked that. I guess, it's where the Sunderland fixture will be slotted that remains the worry.

I think Sunderland has been set for March 26.

So no fixture congestion, then. Good.

not particularly - but we do go like this

    @ Scum - March 16
    @ Cardiff - March 22
    Sunderland - March 26
    Tottensham - March 30

So 4 games in 2 weeks - but really 3 games in 8 days that are "congested"

Have also fallen into the trap that 4th would be a disappointment. Really want 3rd, no playoff, guaranteed proper European nights at Anfield again.

If Arsenal play Spurs like they did against Bayern - they will likely drop points...
We need to keep winning - if just to keep things interesting...
I hope we attack MU like we did Arsenal - with a similar result...Come on you Reds!
