ozil speaks german with his teammates on germany...with ronaldo and benzema, they have only skill and no communication
No communication, Lol. As if they just stand there in silence, staring blankly at each other, shrugging their shoulders and thinking to themselves, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO."
hey it's okay he doesn't know any better. It's been over a year now and I ma pretty sure they must speak basic spanish by now.
And? He was shocking, especially in the second half. Quite frankly it's one thing to be invisible but he was a bit of a liability tonight even with the assist.
Only saw second half, never saw him made that much of fouls before, should have been careful when he's on yellow & considering the opponent made the most of every touch to earn something. But he assisted second goal from corner & started/involved in third goal. With less possession naturally he didn't touch the ball much but when he did he started some nice move or at least keep possession most of the time. Also showing more work rate than usual, noticed him stole balls a lot more than usual. My only big problem was with the fouls he made, I saw the stats he made the most fouls (4). The good thing is he also made 3 successful tackle, the same amount as made by Marcelo, Xabi, & Albiol, only second to Lass who made 4.
Watched the first half, and thought Ozil was good in first half, he didn't even looked like he played out of position, held the width well, played some nice balls to Benzema & Ronaldo to link up & set them up, also made good run from the right after link up with Arbeola & Benzema to set up Khedira, and at the same time did his share of defensive duties well. He wasn't as good in the second half, just like almost the whole team mainly because we lost control in midfield & didn't see much balls after half time, but he worked even harder off the ball and very effective helping making the last 2 goals happened. Bar the unnecessary contacts, especially the one in the last minute, it was at least an ok/decent game from him & probably the game he worked the hardest off the balls so far.
Can someone juxtapose that with Zizou's shape when hitting the winner vs Leverkusen? It looks very similar.
Zizou looked awkward after the hit as I recall it. You could see he was concentrating on getting the technique right. I'll have to watch it again just to refresh my memory
That Ozil photo is from before the hit too, right? I really cant tell, I don't even know from which game that was from
Ozil drilled a first time volleyed cross in the last game which ended up with Benzema failing to control and the keeper got to the ball. I think it's a still from that part of the match.
Against Zagreb. He first took a corner that was deflected and he couldn't control the ball because he was pressured by a Zagreb guy so he had to volley it.
