Marcelo would be awesome, although I don't think he'd leave Madrid unless his wages went through the roof. I don't think he's a realistic target for us. That being said, getting Marcelo and Lovren to have a backline of: Johnson-----Skrtel-----Sakho----Marcelo Flanagan----Lovren---Agger-----Enrique would be good enough to challenge in all 4 competitions. Marcelo may be unrealistic, but an LB improvement over Enrique is the idea here.
Bit of a nutter though. Not that it's a bad thing, but not sure he's really what I would want. I like consistent out of my fullbacks more than I like crazy. Striker's a different situation.
Also, I dont think his physical stature will last. He's always carried a bit of size up top, I think that as he gets older he'll have more injuries from this and he'll start to slow down.
Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton are looking at £5million rated United Arab Emirates winger Omar Abdulrahman
er, Why? If we were prepared to gamble double that amount on Salah, then a similar aged player with the same skill set is worth a gamble. 10 years ago people would laugh at buying Koreans and Japanese footballers.
According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers made a personal check on Bayer Leverkusen youngster Julian Brandt on Friday night. The 17-year-old winger scored in Leverkusen's 2-1 defeat to Hamburg, leaving Rodgers will plenty to ponder as he weighs up a summer move. Iago Aspas has revealed that he wants to quit Liverpool in the summer as he seeks a permanent transfer
Citeh is going to make a massive bid for Suarez apparently. What are the odds that we don't even dignify it with a response? Liverpool are in pole position in the race to sign Real Madrid and Portugal left-back Fabio Coentrao. Please god, no!!! Liverpool are watching Swiss wonder kid Michael Frey with a view to a £5million summer bid. Liverpool still have Micah Richards on their wish-list after a loan bid was rejected in January. Oh goodness - exactly what we need, a perma-crocked defender. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to muscle in on Chelsea's attempts to sign Serbian sensation Lazar Markovic. The Benfica winger has long been a target for the Blues but the Sunday People reports that Rodgers is now on the 20-year-old's trail. 20m is the price Benfica will seek. Just what chel$ki need, another winger. The agent of Yevhen Konoplyanka sparked rumours that Liverpool were still interested in his client with a cryptic tweet on Thursday. On Thursday, Konoplyanka's agent James Lippett tweeted: "En route to Liverpool". Liverpool and Manchester United are trying to persuade Ivan Rakitic that his future belongs in the Premier League, with his agent confirming that he has spoken to Real Madrid and also has an offer from Atletico for the Croatian international. God I'd love for us to sign him - he would kill it in our setup.
Good for 3-4, I would take him in a heartbeat. He's a better player than he's shown, and his value would go up shortly.
What a difference a year makes. Its going to take a special player to improve the first 11 at this point, (fullbacks aside). U21s are top of the league and loaned players generally doing well. I don't really know any of the players we are currently linked with, but are any of them an upgrade on what we currently have? (not that there's anything wrong with that and there is plenty of room for improvement on the bench.) Will make for an interesting summer for sure, but I sense the desperation to "get some quality in" has dissipated to a degree. I know it has for me.
He has the exact same problems as Martin Kelly, I'm not sure why we would kick him out and sign Micah on a considerably higher wage.
I think Richards has played at a higher level than Kelly has. Kelly has one or two matches to look back on in his highlight film. There are two or three seasons where Richards was arguably their best player.
