if a Luca Toni flops in the Bentegodi and Prandelli isn't around to see it, do people still beg for him to be on the plane to Brazil?

At first I didn't think so...

but appears to be as serious as this:

So let's see, some teams and their players might be checked as early as last month, then cleared, while others closer to the tournament? Hmmmmm :cautious:

You had to just go out and get all philosophical didn't you! I say if Luca flops and no one is there to see it, he still flops.

Seriously, I thank Luca for the 2 years of decent to good service on the national team, and the two tap in goals vs Ukraine because without them we never really would have had a chance to see him score in a major tournament, so thank you Luca.

I could have sworn he scored 2 or 3 goals in front of Prandelli a few weeks ago. Guess it didn't help though...

LOL! One goal from Giovinco and he's 'booked a plane ticket' to Brazil?

    One game.

    One game...

    One game ;)

Bonaventura is more of a natural midfielder (more run, stamina etc) and has a better all round game than these two (stronger defensively).

Florenzi is more of a wide forward than a wide mid and is more naturally situated on the right. With Candreva and Cerci ahead of him in the pecking order, Florenzi has zero chance of making the squad.

No overseas players were called up like Motta or Sirigu.

Giak plays in England. Kind of.......on the bench. Cesare has a hard on for him though. I trust that he will come to his senses though come time to select the team.

    News Flash: Neither does Bonaventura.

I posted the 28-30 players in contention in my last post. Toni, Ogbonna, Miccoli, Totti, Cigarini, Bonaventura, Antonelli, Pelle', Santon - or anyone elses favorite players/personal preferences are not going.

When the team is announced and there are no surprises - I will be that guy saying told you so.

    Buffon Sirigu Scuffet Perin
Barzagli Bonucci Chiellini Paletta DeSciglio Criscito Abate Maggio
Pirlo DeRossi Marchisio Motta Montolivo Candreva Giaccherini Diamanti Verratti
Balotelli Immobile Cerci Gilardino Destro Rossi Cassano

Dont see one of your little favorite players in that list?

So we agree that players not on the fitness list, still might have a chance...

It seems like a whole song and dance what Prandelli is doing. The odds are Davide's list represents the 95% likelihood of what we will be seeing in Brazil barring some major injuries. I don't understand why Prandelli has to pretend that he is actually still thinking about the squad to bring.

Could we give a passport to Mehdi Benatia. ********ing wasting away in the Moroccan National Team while we rely on Gonzo and Bonucci.

So you're saying no Destro, absolutely not?

    Apparently

Of course it is, which is why I'm mocking it all together. Making a team function is as much about picking the right players to compliment each other as it is bringing the oldest/highest goal scorer, maybe more. :)

The only names you could add to that list are Astori and Osvaldo to make it a full 30. Speaking of Khal Drogo - man was he horrendous in those few minutes he got vs Udinese.

Gonzo on the other hand? Very solid.

Osvaldo has fcuked himself with such a disruptive season. He's so out of form from lack of games he shouldn't have a realistic chance. However big a cnut he is he does have the wild card and is capable of scoring big goals and I think he will sadly go at the expense of one of destro/immobile

Yet he is still min the squad of 42. Didn't he score recently with the NT? I agree though, Osvaldo should be there but I think Prandelli is leaning his way.

    My prediction for Prandelli's 23:

    BUFFON, SIRIGU, SCUFFETT
JUVE 3, PALETTA, CRISCITO, DE SCIGLIO, ABATE
PIRLO, DDR, MARCHISIO, VERRATTI, MOTTA, MONTOLIVO, INSIGNE, CANDREVA
    BALOTELLI, ROSSI, IMMOBILE, CERCI, CASSANO

You suggested Florenzi I was just responding to you. Not sure why you suggested him if he's not in your 1000% list.

Bonaventura should make the team if Giak is left out. I didn't notice the fine print "who do not include those currently playing outside of Italy". So yeah Giakk is slight favourite to make the team but he's not even getting a run at Sunderland atm so he could still miss out.
