The results of WC 2010 was an embarrassment. A losing result in a meaningless friendly to a growing USMNT program isn't anywhere near as bad as you're making it seem. Also keep in mind that we barely scraped out a draw against these guys at WC 06, even in spite of the fact that they played a man down for most the match.

And by the way, the match isn't even over yet :

the worst part will be the Americans celebrating like they won the world cup if this scoreline stays the same.

Not impressed with Ogbonna. He gives away the ball pretty carelessly and often.

This is worse than N. Korea in 1966!

If the scoreline stays the same, Italy should forfeit from the Euros. If we can't beat the US in a meaningless friendly, there is no way we stand a chance this summer.

Neither is the USA. They are missing Donovan, Oguchi Onyewu and Stuart Holden. With them the US might be winning by more.

We deserve it with the way some people were arrogantly trash talking them leading up to this match.

No clue why Prandelli's playing him as a LB. He's much more comfortable as a CB, and was dominating Altidore in the first half.

Its no better in their forum though..

Its just the usual "Italy is boring and full of divers and cheats" stereotype.

A loss isn't such a bad thing. I think this is the shot in the ass that Cesare needs

If anything, keep him in the center and put Chiello on the left.

Exactly. Prandelli has been very, very poor tactically this match.

I sure wish we had some creativity out there. Italy are as predictable as a movie I have seen a thousand times.

If we have Balotelli, Cassano, Rossi or Di Natale I think we score some goals.

Really we've been unlucky not too.

I'd be more upset if Italy really played horribly. They just simply can't finish in this game.

    This.

But even without the names you just mentioned, Italy has been all over USA's defense, which will be exhausted after this game. And any chances that were on net hit Howard straight on.
