I read something about Del Bosque calling up Monreal for Ramos, so there's that silver lining.

Yeah because Ramos is broke dick right about now. Xavi is injured also and more then likely won't play either.

Don't think this is going to be much of a "friendly." Italy will be trying to make a statement after a poor World Cup, especially at home (sort of like Argentina a couple of months back). Hope Spain comes out with a little more focus and desire for this match.

Looks like Iraola will start at right back. Would like to see Del Bosque give Thiago a few minutes in the second half.

Is it being aired on any of the US channels?

The only channel I know of is RAI International. I can't find it on FSC or any ESPN channels.

WTH. Thank you DIECI. Arguably the biggest friendly of the day and not on any channels...Meh. I'm sure there are darts or women's softball on ESPN though :I

Why would ESPN show this? Maybe on ESPN deportes. You could also check GolTV.

I haven't checked ESPN3.com but they often show a lot of international friendlies.

Edit: Well I checked all of those channels, none of them are showing it.

I was being facetious. I checked all those channels much to my chagrin. ESPN3 did not have it listed, it must be a tv rights thing

Yeah I checked it too. Fox Soccer channel is not showing it either. I think we are just out of luck here in the US.

    What happened to Torres?

NVM - apparent ankle injury or an earache. Who knows.

Latest - concussion going to get CT.

    2-1 loss

We used to be king of the friendlies, not so much now. I'll take titles over that anyday though.

    Llorente was pretty bad.
Overall, I dont care as long as we win when it matters.

Our under 20 just went through beating SK.

Didn't see the Italy match. No big deal - doesn't really tell us anything other than that Spain plays their best when their backs are to the wall.

Did see the U-20 kids. Korea was relentless pressuring but wore down a bit in extra time. Not overly impressed with our U-20, though they were pretty poised taking the PK's.

They really don't have that big time player that gives defenses nightmares. Maybe Alvaro Vazquez to some degree.

Midfield wasn't impressive but could have something to do with the constant all-field pressure by the Koreans.

Things should open up a bit against Brazil Sunday. Looking forward to that!

The under 20 is clearly the weakest of the crop of youth sides. Under-21 and Under-19 Euro Champs have more dynamic midfields. The under-20 side seems to be also lacking chemistry.

I think having our most talented youngsters spread out over three teams because of three tournaments during the same summer diluted the U-20 a bit.

They played much better against Brazil yesterday. It surprised me how they dominated the Brazilians for long stretches during the match.

Spain was clearly the better team. The first Brazilian goal should not have counted as Willian was off-side. We should be 1-0 winners and in the semis against Mexico, but that's the way it goes.

Our future is secure, though, and we will be contenders in all tournaments for years to come.
