I think that's where the crux of this is: You think it's Italy vs. England, whereas I see it as Serie A vs. EPL.

Okay fair enough. I thought the comments were more about the foreigners on Inter's squad, not a direct comparison of EPL v Serie "A" CL squads but I admit I only glazed over Davis' posts rather than actually read them.

But still ... there wasn't any bashing of England in voodoo's reply so not sure why so many people wound themselves up into a little knot over his post specifically.

Well, the argument itself I don't really care about, but considering Dellci2001 was a little irked at a Canadian entering the conversation, I would think it goes beyond a simple league matter for him, when I think that that is incorrect.

Old Voodoo was the one who first got "wound up" by doing a long reply to an off the cuff remark. A lengthy trainspotter-like listing of all players.
You write a post like that with afew barbed comments and you would likely get a reply.

Its just we never bring up the national teams because we are not that at the moment its allways the foreigners who bring it up when comparing leagues which is silly imo.

you guys can talk all the shit you want but the EPL was always 2nd or 3rd best until Foreign envestors came in with all the money to buy foriegn players. Comparing EPL teams from the 90's to now, we can clearly see that EPL teams couldn't win shit in Champions League with a majority of the lineup being English. It finally took EPL teams years of buying foriegns to actually win in CL consistently.

We won a fair bit back in the 80s before all that though didn't we, what's your excuse for that? Did we cheat our way there, or was it luck?

foreign owners for the most part take money out of english football, they are not stupid fools, look at the glazors cappin the wage billl at 50% of revenue and just borrowing even more money when they buy players becase they won't spend their own money, or gillet and hicks, the premier league was already far and away the richest league in the world before any foreign owners, like beckenbaur said its not just the richest its twice as big as the next league reagrding the collective revenue of all the twenty clubs.

    Not Italy though.

Hardly anyone here gives a flying shit about England and English football unless Italians or Italian teams are involved.

And the rare times English football is mentioned, you'll only hear positive remarks, usually for extra-pitch reasons (stadiums, atmosphere, etc.).

You clearly havent followed the history of Football.
English football bossed the contest in the 70s/80s with no imports at all..
or do you think football only started in the 90s (when the english clubs returned after a long ban).

But wait Sinner, the past is only valid when it relates to their teams! Of course football started in the 90s!

The only period of Italian club success was the 90s.
The period when they had all the money and best imports.
As soon as other teams could compete financially with them and when they hit financial problems after many years of spending ,they stopped winning.

Not true...Italian clubs were very good in the 60s...and even in the 80s and 00s there were some victories.

The 90s were the zenith but Italian clubs, bar some years in the 70s (thanks Juve ), have always managed to compete.

No offence to italians because i love you guys but italy was the country that really profited from us getting banned, you had no competion about form disorganised spanish teams and some good german teams and ajax, see i have learnt some stuff about the history, its easy you just read it and work stuff out.:)

Sacchi's Milan, Maradona's Napoli and Matthaus' Inter would have won regardless of the ban.

And Italian clubs were already back to their best before the ban (3 consecutive EC finals) anyway.

Zico, Socrates, Falcao, Platini, Junior, Rummenigge all came to Italy (making Serie A way tougher) before Heysel.

Cool, i just prefer talking to the older ones thats all :), 23 is probably an adult though, i said i'm 23 but i'm, really 21, its just because when i joined i was only nineteen and i thought it would be best to be older, i jave more expierience than nmost people here though, they are all good two shoes who don't even go clubbing or anything that, most of them have never taken anything either, they're quite innocent, cute, lol

only reason that you are winnig now against italians rather then 10 years ago is because 5-10 years ago. inzaghi was 5 years younger del piero 5 years younger maldini 5 years younger and so many others.that what pisses my off so much with italians they don't change their teams until they get beaten and until everybody see how slow they are compare to younger stronger players.inter is finaly changing bringing back aquafresca next year and i hope getting rid of older players.inter reminds me of GM it is like retiremant for people that do nothing

Okay. A guess I'll keep my posts shorter.

    1. I didn't mean to piss people off and I totally understand people defending England. I acutally like the premiership and follow it quite closely.

    2. I reacted to a comment made by someone and showed facts.

    3. The best Club teams from England are the best club teams in the world right now.

    4. Those teams have very few people from England contributing.

    5. I recognize that Inter is no better and I hate them for that very reason.

    That is all.
