Unless MontoLOLivo starts to actually move the ball, how are Gila and Osvaldo supposed to do anything? They can't create sh1t. Verratti is too deep at the moment, and Abate's crosses are non existent. Haven't seen much of Diamanti either.
and to add to that we have santon on the left, who never goes down the left far enought to cros it, he always cutts in on his right and usually loses it too
The score may look unfair to Holland, but we had 6 or 7 goals scoring chances right at the end. At least we did not give up.
GOOAAAALL!! Couldn't be happier that Verratti scored! Hope that gives Prandelli something to think about!! Italy deserved to score just based on the last couple of wasted chances.
Prandelli still needs to work on defensive movements, too many holes back there. Verratti, one positive from today... and Gigi...of course.
You can see Verratti's class already. Thank goodness for that, because without Pirlo, we look lost at times. We got a decent result, but the play was pretty poor overall. I thought we were lousy in possession, making too many stupid mistakes. We didn't look composed on the ball, and we played way too many speculative balls. The 4-3-1-2 is not geared for a team like Italy who have the capability to control play. If it were me, with all healthy, I'd like to see a 3-5-2: Buffon; Barzagli, De Rossi, Chiellini; Abate, Verratti, Pirlo, Marchisio, Santon/Balzaretti; El Sharaawy, Balotelli. That team has excellent quality and would be able to dictate play against just about anyone.
Verratti is the only positive. Buffon is to be expected from him as he is of the highest standard. Overall, a very passionless performance. I hope Prandelli reminds the players that they are playing for the greatest shirt in the world. Players would cry when they were not called for Nazionale. The only new thing that Verratti. All the rest except Buffon did not even turn up. What is the point of friendlies if the players are not going to even play properly? The 433 is a failure and should not be used. Our players do not have the necessary pace to make it work. We should go back to 4312 so the attack and midfield can link up better.
