http://gofalconsports.com/sport.asp?sportID=15 I for one hadn't seen that Bob Reasso took a new head coaching job.
Nice find! Apparently it's his alma mater and he's also the A.D. http://www.pfeiffer.edu/news-media/...tics-athletic-director-and-men-s-soccer-coach That's actually a good thing in soccer. Don't know of too many other ADs who have a background in soccer.
BTW, given the kerfuffle with ADs and coaches and his former employer, it's kinda ironic he ended up as an AD.
And there's an opening at UC Riverside as Junior Gonzalez rolls the dice on his career by taking an assistant coaching gig at Chivas USA. http://www.cdchivasusa.com/news/2013/07/chivas-usa-suma-al-cuerpo-tecnico-gonzalez-plummer-camacho
John Michael Hayden hired as an assistant at Lipscomb. With a recommendation like the following, it seems like a safe bet that he'll eventually move up to bigger things. http://www.lipscombsports.com/msoccer/news/2013-14/8299/mens-soccer-adds-hayden-to-staff/
Riverside was paying Gonzalez in the ballpark of $60K, which in the LA area isn't a whole lot. Even if the Chivas gig doesn't pan out, I guess he figures he can make as much coaching elsewhere. https://ucannualwage.ucop.edu/wage/
Not a big surprise, but Riverside will spend this year under Tim Cupello, who has been promoted from assistant to interim head coach.
http://www.goxavier.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/072913aaa.html Xavier adds a pair of former college standouts as assistants in Jed Zayner (played at IU and in MLS) and Chuck Rodriguez (played at Charlotte).
The start of another season is upon us - so it's time to get this thread going !! Who should be on the hot seat or who is going to retire after the this season ? There are a lot of coaches that have been coaching for a long time who should be looking to hang it up ? Love to hear your thoughts !!
Schools that need to have good years or seats could get warm: USF, LMU, SDSU, Fullerton, Denver, San Jose State, SMU, Clemson, Va Tech
honestly, I feel that Yale should be on that list, what was the last time that Yale had a good season. I know the Brian Tompkins is respected in the college soccer world, and seems like a competent coach but Yale has, in recent memory, sucked every season since 2005.
When a college team fails to win a certain percentage of the close ones, while remaining competitive in the true sense of the word, does the intangible flaw become the coaches' cross to bear?
But, he's ENGLISH! That automatically makes him a better soccer coach than his American counterparts.
DUH, I'm an idiot how I could I possibly forget that anyone with an accent knows, infinitely more than any American ever could.
And with that, you can now be an athletic director in charge of hiring a soccer coach at an American college. #ItsSadBecauseItsTrue
Colin Garon to UC Davis as an assitant on women's team, from Humboldt State, where he was a goalkeeper (1998-2001), 3-year goalkeeper coach for both men's and women's teams, and interim women's coach for a time this year while they searched for a new head coach. http://www.ucdavisaggies.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/080113aaa.html I find this delightful because Garon was my was club coach for both of my sons and my younger son is on the Davis men's team.
Jorden from Cal Baptist is the pick for Pacific....announcement is coming in the next day or so...I am changing my name to Ace...bad Casino reference. Word is Bret Simon and Tobin were the other finalists.

Lots of new assistants being announced http://www.iupuijags.com/news/2013/8/7/MSOC_0807135127.aspx http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2013/08/oatley_returns_to_mens_soccer.html http://www.gojaspers.com/ViewArticl...p_CONTENT_ID&ATCLID=208987962&DB_OEM_ID=12500 http://www.thetimesnews.com/sports/...stant-coach-for-men-s-soccer-program-1.183062
Not too many programs can boast of hiring a former MLS head coach as an assistant coach. Princeton can. Marsch '96 Named Princeton Men's Soccer Assistant Coach http://www.goprincetontigers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10600&ATCLID=209109260
