This is the first game of this competition that will be held in Copenhagen Denmark 2011.

    The Israeli group:

    Bulgaria
    Sweden
    Montenegro
    Kazakhstan
    Israel

It's half time now and Israel is leading 1-0 after a nice goal by Maor Buzglo.

Terrible result. I would've expected them to nail the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Borat must be proud now.

Hmm..Guys I saw the game. Kazakhstan have a really nice team, Sweden and Bulgaria will have a hard time against them as well.
Anyway it's only the first match, the team played really nice and I believe they will qualify. By the way Idan Vered and Orel Dgani were amazing.

It was away right? If so the result isn't that bad, it must be hard to play in somewhere like Kazakhstan.

But still very disappointing. They could have at least won to make me feel a bit better after the national team. :(

Any reason Assulin isn't playing? Do they think he's too weak physically at the age of 17 to play against people who already physically developed?

Unless i mis understood (google translate isnt the best) Assulin just came off the bench for his first game in over 2 months (he was out for a while after straining some knee ligaments) so i dont think he is match fit, and its pointless to fly him out to Kazakhstan where he wont play, or he will and will have the chance to get hurt. We gotta let him come along slowly, but i mean he is at barcalona so we know no matter what he is going to have the best training in the world.

The game was in Kiryat Eliezer, Haifa...
Yea it's even more disappointing that we didn't beat them after the red card they got in the beginning of the second half...But, as I say, they were pretty good, and I have a feeling they will beat Bulgaria and Sweden.h

Yeah. Assulin just came back from a two-month injury, and in previous matches, was not selected for the U21s because he wanted to cement his place in the Barca Atletic side (reserves). However, last week, he was training with the first team (which was depleted because there were no matches and many players were on international duty).

Is someone able to clarify these questions:
    1. Is Gai Assulin cap-tied to Israel after coming on as a substitute in an international friendly? Because I know Spain were trying to call him up.

    2. Is it true that Gai can only play for Barca or be in their main roster when he turns 18 (in 9 days)?

Yeah he is cap tied to Israel, he played in U-21 matches and he played in that friendly against Chile. As for Barca, I think they were wanting to call him up to the first team earlier but like you said he needed a passport first, I hope gets called up for their squad and gets some solid minutes.

Yea Assulin is a short time away from getting a spain passport, which then he wont be considered one of the 5 (non-EU) players in the first team squad. Then he will most likely train with the first team, although he would play in the reserves. Luckly for him, the reserves play in an actual football division, and not like in england where its just against each other.

I couldn't find any particular thread, but i saw u guys were discussing U21 teams here and commenting Kazakhstans play. So, sorry if i'm posting in wrong topic.

Kazakhstan has beaten Bulgaria 2:0. They could make it more comfortable though. Kazakh forward who is only 17 year old lobbed the keeper, unfortunately it bounced off the bar. 21 year old midfield playmaker Erbes had 3-4 100% chances but bulgarian keeper who is Juventus youngster made some fantastic saves. 20 year old right midefielder Ibraev scored scissor ball on 70th minute after the cross from corner made by Erbes. In injury time Erbes, the man of the match did what he wanted to, taking on two defenders he scored very nice scorcher, curling the ball to the far post.
