I know its only 1 game in hexagonal and we lose to Honduras who needed to trash Canada in november to even get here. W e lose to them 2-1 with games against tougher opponents like mexico ,costa rica and panama still to come twice. I am sorry I am already worried. we play costa rica next if they lose today and they should to panama. the usa-costa rica game is a must win for both. then 4 days later we travel to AZTECA. Our rose woes will continue I am sorry to say BRAZIL 2014 might not have the usa there

Of course it's time to panic!!! We now know the Germans melt in the sun. I predict the Azteca game will be moved to 2:00pm.

Why do you think Panama is so good? Honduras is easily better and Costa Rica is too and should beat them tonight. I think Panama is the worst team in the group and I expect to take full points from them.

I'm getting worried. In every away qualifier this cycle we have scored first and let our opponent equalize. We use to never give up leds, last cycle we even had a reputation for coming from behind.

Still, its early and I think jk will get things together in time

Replace Klinsmann with Arena and you have the same situation for 2002 qualifying. Look how that turned out

I'm more worried about the player pool than the manager. I do have concerns with how the manager is using them though.

We'll qualify, and we'll go out in the group stages in the WC if nothing changes.

In 2002, we barely qualified and had our best showing in modern history
In 2006, we had an easier time qualifying and got bounced in the group stage.

Performance during qualification isn't an indicator of how well a team will do once they get there.

Very true. Defense still needs to be fixed though.

The only way we'll be playing a lot better at the World Cup is if Klinsmann changes his tactics but that's not happening.

To be fair, last cycle we had a reputation for coming from behind because we were behind in the first 20 minutes quite frequently.

This bugs me. Giving up leads.

Line two is a dangerous way to think.

Haha, yea I guess it is. I'm thinking about 2006 when the Germans looked meh and everyone hated Klinsmann but they got things together in the world cup and got 3rd place

Main cause for concern? Defense, or lack thereof. Fix it. ASAP

Don't confuse my pregame motivational speechs with my true opinions. On game days, I put on a brave face and shout USA, USA because reality is too depressing not to take a short holiday into fantasy and comedy.
