ALL credit to Chile, I thought they were superb, worked SO hard throughout; like a competitive game and Ireland just couldn't cope. Liverpool supporters should be very excited about Gonzales. From us, it was typical end of season stuff, really. We looked tired and sluggish throughout. We lacked cohesion. Communication between the lads was poor - none of them appeared to be on the same wavelength. Just an end of season friendly, so I'm not too put out. Vast improvements are needed if we're to challenge Germany and the Czech Republic for European Cup Qualification. Onward to Holland in August.
A couple of interesting facts on this year. March 1 (Sweden) - May 24th (Chile)= 2 months and 23 days, May 24th (Chile) - August 16th (Netherlands)= 2 months 23 days. Last year, August 17th, friendly, Italy This year, August 16th, friendly, Holland And Im getting a 68% (D+) in (advanced) math
End of season slog. What I never knew was Jason Byrne is Robbie Keane's first cousin. You learn something new, etc.
I missed most of the match apart from a couple of glimpses here and there - does anyone have/know of any high or lowlights I could get my hands on?
yeah i also missed most of the match.....got roped into going to a stupid table quiz.....silly questions about teletubbies and the like! still won a bottle of JD which is better than nothing but i wouldnt worry too much about the loss......its better to get these results out now rather than in the qualifiers.....iron out our problems early i have heard that kelly and o shea were terrible......?
