Well, going by history we'll probably delete everything written now and put Bosnia and the name of a domestic team down!

Cancelled . Lets see what team gets knocked off your list next. I am saddened that simple minded TM fans such as yourself are still easily fooled by this incompetent federation , Haven’t you learned from the past? it’s a well known fact that 90% of announced games never take place. This is expected when our country is ruled by bunch of retarded rishoos.

LONDON, July 14 (Reuters) - English club Charlton Athletic have denied claims that a pre-season friendly against Iran was called off for political reasons.

Iranian media said on Monday that a complaint would be lodged to world governing body FIFA after Charlton pulled out of the match due to be played in Spain this week.

“We are going to lodge an official complaint to FIFA over Charlton’s behaviour,” Tehran Times daily quoted Iranian Football Federation vice-president Mehdi Taj as saying.

“(World) football officials have emphasised that politics should be kept away from sports, so we ask why the English disregarded FIFA’s motto,” Taj said.

Championship (second division) side Charlton arrived in Spain on Monday for a pre-season training camp where they hoped to play two private warm-up matches.

However, a club spokesman said that despite discussions with the Iranians, there had been no agreement on a match.

“There was never a friendly arranged so to say it had been called off would be incorrect,” the spokesman said.

“We had discussions but they were never concluded. We decided not to play Iran, it was a club decision and certainly nothing to do with politics.”

Iran drew criticism last week from the European Union, the United States and Israel after it announced that it had conducted missile tests.

It's a shame our friendlies are getting canceled. We need some quality friendlies if we are gonna be able to take on the big boys of Asia and qualify for the World Cup.

Updated with the latest cancellations and scores.

It seems the Spanish cancellations were because of extended summer camp of the teams after winning the Euro. Daei didn't seem to think it was their fault.

And the latest news suggest the incompetent IFF never confirmed the friendly with Charlton; although there have been other suggestions of political interference in a possible cancellation. Iran said they were approaching FIFA, we'll see if anything comes out of it.

PS KC, post another one of those silly videos and at the very least you'll be banned from Iran forums.

Your little late , its been canceled for a while now. Egypt is the only worthy Arab side that we should play but sadly politics and sports are mixed in that part of the world.

Thanks...forgot to change that one. Cancelled because of a documentary some silly people decided to make.

Would have been a great match otherwise. Real shame.

Come on! Iran can't play with Israel because of politics. In fact a lot of Countries are mixing politics with Sports even in Europe.

KUALA LUMPUR: Iran’s request to postpone their scheduled August 20 friendly with fellow 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification hopefuls Uzbekistan could lead to cancellation of their another crucial practice game.

According to information, Iran Football Association’s national team committee, which met recently in the presence of coach Ali Daei, found the date of the friendly unsuitable and requested their Central Asian counterparts to postpone the match a week later.

Uzbekistan, who have already lined up a friendly with DPR Korea on August 29 in Tashkent, are reportedly unhappy with the development and have started looking for a new opponent to play on August 20.

Uzbekistan team manager Vadim Abramov confirmed the development saying, “We are disappointed and have already started looking for a new opponent.”

“It is not good for any country to ask for a change just two weeks before the match. Anyway, I hope this situation will not affect the relationship between Iran and Uzbekistan football associations,” he said. Uzbekistan coach Rauf Inlieev was equally surprised with the Iranian request.

“It is really a bad situation for us. Frankly, I did not expect this. For example, we can never expect this to have happened in European football. Iran’s refusal to play on August 20 will have a negative impact on my team,” he said.

Iran Football Association President Ali Kaffashian said that they are still waiting for a response from the UFF.

“We have requested UFF to postpone the match to August 27 or 29. This request came from the technical management of Team Melli who are not happy with the date. We haven’t received any response from the UFF,” he told www.the-afc.com.

Iran’s planned friendlies against Egypt, Spanish clubs Marbella and Malaga and English side Charlton Athletic were cancelled due to various reasons recently.

Yeah I heard that from others as well, it might be a B team. It's not a FIFA date anyway so Iranian players outside Iran won't be able to make it either.

    We'll see what happens.

This young Iranian team is abusing Qatar right now, lol.

    2-0 for Iran after 45.

The second goal was scored on a powerful and beautiful free kick by some kid who plays left back. (1st appearance btw)

The game ended 6-1 for Iran.

That 1 goal, was Mirzapour's fault.
