The Malta game is a qualifier.

Is it? I didn't know, just thought it was one game. Meh, still it's Malta.

So Pirlo and Chiellini will be wasting energy and risking injury against the might Malta just before our nightmare run of Inter-Bayern-Pescara-Bayern-Lazio-Milan?

I hope Italy fail to qualify for the WC.

I think these games could benefit some of our backup players if they play and these games definitely help Matri and Quags. After all don't we all want to see them start against Bayern in the big game?

I can tolerate Prandelli calling up the likes of Giaccherini (even if I don't like it), but what's the point of playing Andrea Pirlo in a friendly? What more is there to know about him as a player? None and nothing.

The potential loss for us is far greater than any potential gain for the Azzurri.

he's playing Pirlo cuz Brazil is a good test and winning that game is for bragging rights even if its meaningless. Especially after Lippi's 2 disasterous games in 2009
But still i hate seeing him, chiellini and barzagli on there...im hoping they get rested in 2nd half

Matri and Quags didnt get called up. Gilardino and Giovinco did. lol

The good news for our gal is that she may get her wish with one of our players. The bad news is that her wish may be due to her fears. Quit jinxing us girl ....

Chiellini has been sent home with an ankle injury. Hopefully it's not too serious and he'll be healed up by April 2nd.

The plane carrying the Italy squad to Geneva was hit by lightning as it was making its landing.

One down, seven more to go...

Chiellini may be doubtful for Inter. I don't think he adequately recovered from his other ankle injury and now he has both. He needs to mend properly.

I know and what I meant by that is they are back in Torino with Vidal and whoever else that didn't get called up working with Conte and who knows what shape Vucinic and Gio will be in when they come back. Bodes well for Matri and Quags.
