As a person who values the MLS Cup far more than the "Subsidize Jack Warner's Replacement Cup", I am disappointed in the Galaxy and Sounders. I would prefer to have those two teams tired out and collapse in league play. Now that they are out, they can focus on MLS.

Of course, Toronto can now get distracted, which is theoretically good for the other Eastern teams, but over the season I projected them weaker than the other two whether they had won or lost.

Toronto may not suck this year. Winter seems to have turned things around. They were decent in the latter half of last season. Beating LA @ home is no small feat, either. Nobody was able to do it last year.

Yeah but it has happened now twice within only a few days . I definitely think TFC looks better so far then they did last year when we went up there and pasted them. They looked better the second game here so I think they are very much improved. I certainly don't expect us to go up this year and get the same result we did last year.

This looks to be another embarrassing year for MLS in CCL.

Next year will be a different story altogether when the Union run rampant in the CCL.

Pink Cows vs Rapids. Here is hoping the Pink Cows don't have a better record than the Union come full time.

I think for the whitecaps game, we should do the " I believe that we will lose " chant.

Given the increase in suspensions this season in MLS, I would be surprised if Marquez did not receive a multi-game suspension for that.

My father-in-law and my son were at the game. My father-in-law is a big sports fan, but had never been to a pro soccer game before. He told me that he really enjoyed the energy of the crowd, but could not believe the hostility and jeering directed towards Salinas when he was down and, ultimately, taken off the field on a stretcher.

He has been a Jets season ticket holder for decades, so that's saying a lot.

Salinas was not carried off on a stretcher, he walked off under his own power. There was a second 'Quakes player who was carried off at about the same time.

My bad. That makes it even worse if Rafa's tackle and the cheering for the injury were separate incidents.

They were indeed separate. Marquez looked like he was sacking a quarterback. His arms were wrapped around Salinas under Shea's arms, and Rafa drove him into the turf shoulder first. It should have been a straight red, as well as, a PK! He had better receive a lenghty suspension from the disciplinary committee.
