According to Der Kicker there is some hope that Sven Bender and even Marco Reus could make it for the game against Frankfurt on Saturday. Nothing has been decided, and personally I believe that Marco Reus' return would be more important for the game against Zenit.

Fortunately our "dear" Zambrano will be rested on Saturday, because he'll be needed against Bremen, so the risk of additional injuries should have decreased a bit.

There are no news regarding Gündogan. He has recovered from his bronchitis, but he is still suffering from his nerve inflammation. The situation is very difficult to understand for outsiders, but it would be fitting to our bad luck that for whatever reasons he wouldn't play another game for us again.

I'm a bit worried about Gundogan's career at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if need retired without playing another season of professional football.

Would be nice if we knew what his condition exactly is.

Dude, Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt is awesome. But he isn't fixing Gündogan.

Does anybody know if Gundogan is training with the team or by himself?

I hope Hummels is back for the trip to Russia. If they decide to park the bus we will need creativity all over the pitch.

Gundogan is only running and there is no way of knowing when he wil lbe back in team training. Might be one week from now, might be 2 months.

Hummels should be available against Zenit however he will probably miss the game against HSV so he will have no match practise.

Im flying to Dortmund next week to see Dortmund - Nurnberg game, I hope to see Hummels there. :D

    Kehl's not injured is he?

If it's ten weeks exactly then Bender will be back for matchday 34 for us, and if we that far the Pokal and CL finals. :(

Kehl I don't trust to last uninjured until then. Wouldn't be so bad to have Ginter now...

Grosskreutz to play CM now, utility man to the rescue , what happens if he gets injured next though?

PS I thought Bender was subbed off to rest him, I didn't see him walk off injured, did Klopp know and took him off as a precaution, or was it mere coincidence.

Management definitely needs to address the CM issue in the Summer. I guess Jojic should be getting more play time as result too.

This is a bloody crisis! It's a disaster! Sven's injury news IMO is pretty much season ending news!

I'm one for hope, but i don't have a good feeling about this trip to Russia on Tuesday

Bittencourt was the best player against Bayern today. Wish we had him.

The medical team in our club is a joke.

There needs to be a club wide investigation into why so many players are getting injured....

From the preseason and season training regimen
    The medical staff and facilities
    The playing style
The functional depth of the roster

...and appropriate adjustments need to be made

No. They will say "shit happens", not prepare any better and hope shit doesn't happen again.

I don't agree with this. But I'll bet this is what they do.......

So what's the point of 50+1 rule if club members and fans can't demand the club to do what's right? That's what I was really asking about, it's good to say they should and they must, but what will actually be done aside from us wishing?

I didn't say they can't "demand the club do what's right." They just can't force the club leadership to do what they want. There are still elections for club president and if the base are so unsatisfied, they can vote out the president, who in turn can try to make changes. In most cases, this will not happen. The leadership got forced out in Hamburg. What good did that do? A beloved club figure had to die for them to get a f#cking win.......

No worries. Grosskreutz can play up top for the next couple matches.
