Fulham Midfielder Junichi Named AFC Player Of August

The Asian Football Association (AFC) announced today that Fulham's Japanese star Junichi Inamoto has been elected AFC Player of the Month, due to his four goals in the two legs of the Intertoto Cup final victory over Italian Serie A side Bologna.

Many Asian players performed impressively for the past month, including Korean Seol Ki-hyeon, who netted four times for Anderlecht in the first three matches of the Belgian league. Chinese stars Li Tie with Everton and Sun Jihai with Man City also impressed their audience respectively.
