Don't see how Perkins would have made a difference. Besides He'll be rested for Saturday, as he didn't even make the trip out west.
Rotation would have given Montreal a better shot at making up the 7 points that separate Portland from Montreal. The teams have the same amount of wins (13), I guess a proper rotation would have given us a chance to tie more games??? Otherwise, some times sneaking into the play offs is all you need, and the regular season won't mean much if you hit it, when it counts.
I suspect it also had something to do with Bush's familiarity with the backline we had in LA. He played with them in CC, CCL and Reserves.
I don't see any chance he's back next year. That has to be the single greatest 9 game collapse at the end of a year in the history of MLS.
Yep, I posted this in the PBP thread, but this will be yet another coaching casualty and in the end it's good for the league when failure isn't tolerated, and when 5th place in a weak Eastern Conference followed by a blowout is seen for what it truly is--completely mediocre. I only wish John Hackworth were judged by similar standards!
i thought it was pretty clear they couldn't last with such old legs. the team was assembled poorly, and only di vaio kept them afloat. i like felipe, but he didn't get all the playing time. the defense was non-existent. mapp is unproductive. bernier is old too for a mf, and a little small. arnauld was a solid mls player but he's older now. the coach was completely unable to hold anything together once the pieces started coming off. in fact, his personality may have led them straight to that total embarrassment in houston.
