I think that there has come the time for an all new thread for VfL Wolfsburg for the all new season, so I am gonna open it for all of my fellow Wolfsburg supporters around the world (myself included), the season starts one week from this Saturday (August 5th), as we go on the road to Cologne to face FC Koln, then come home the following Saturday for Matchday 2, to face the 2010 Champions, the ever-dangerous Thomas Muller/Bastian Schweinsteiger-lead Bayern Munich, but I don't want to go on and on about it, so here is the complete rundown as for the schedule of all 34 matches for all of you, and as always...... GO WOLVES!!! GO VOLKSWAGEN!!! AND GO FELIX MAGATH!!! DEAR MODS, If you feel that you should combine this to the already-existing-but-also-antique VfL thread already up, please feel free to do so if you so wish. No one wants to talk about the dominating power than is Leipzig? Daniel Frahn will be bought by Wolfsburg within 3 days.
It's quite considerate that you are allowing yourself into your thread. An ugly outcome for the VWs today, btw.
Wolfsburg will be fine, just give them a few weeks to get some chemistry as a team. I don't think they'll challenge for the league but Europe is a yes
Can't wait to see Magath's "fitness" regime after that loss. I'm guessing it involves a large hill, many medicine balls and lots of screaming.
"Get up, bitch!!!" - Felix Magath to Simon Kjaer in these pics Felix Magath = Drill Sergeant He kinda reminds me of former NCAA college basketball head coach Bobby Knight, they both hate to lose, and if Bobby Knight is known as "The General", then what nickname would fit Felix Magath well? That'll be up to you guys. I guess that his practice sessions are almost similar to boot camp in the military, that rough, that difficult, as Simon Kjaer is now finding out in these 2 shots, but, it's only like this when VfL Wolfsburg loses, and hopefully that won't be often. I can obviously respect the passion for winning and his demand for excellence from his players that he has. That is how we won in 2009, and after stupidly making the mistake of letting him go after that championship season, he promptly put Schalke 04 in Champions League the year after he left us, while we slid downward the past 2 years under both Armin Veh and also the now-infamous Steve McClaren/Dieter Hoeness three-ring circus.
Going back to something I discussed with Kampfschwein some time ago, in the previous thread: a recent SZ article estimates VW to pump 100 million Euros per season into VfL. That's even more than my estimate back then: http://www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/fu...olfsburg-das-fragwuerdige-vw-system-1.1126206
How many of you are set for the opening kickoff to the 2011-12 VfL Wolfsburg season, in which we begin on the road in Cologne against FC Koln? And of course you can ee it LIVE and in color on ATDHENET.tv at 3:30 pm Wolfsburg time, which here in the States would be 9:30 am EDT/6:30 pm PDT. I know I will be parked in front of my PC monitor enjoying all 90 minutes of the action, how many of you will be joining me in doing so?
I meant 9:30 am EDT/6:30 am PDT (my fault! I put down "pm" instead of "am" on the start time when it came to the States). But no matter what, I'll be wearing my new 2010-11 third (Blue) jersey/trikot with my PC logged onto ATDHENET.tv this Saturday morning at 6:30 am, streaming the Sky Deutschland feed (the language barrier doesn't bother me, after all, a goal is a goal in any language, I don't need an interpretor for that [I know it's called "tor", please correct me if I am wrong, I'm a bit rusty on my German right now, although I am a fan of both RAMMS+EIN and Megaherz, and my trustee to my late mother's trust fund, Doris Loeschen, is originally from Germany, but I will get there with it!] ) with my morning coffee, fresh bagels from Metro Bagels here in Port Townsend, and some brats from my Foreman Grill. IMMER NUR DU DER GRUN-WEISS VFL!!! IMMER NUR DU FELIX MAGATH!!! (I hope my German grammar is correct )
He is sometimes called "Quälix" (a wordplay with his first name). The reason is he tortures (er quält) his players with hard training sessions. He is also quoted: "Discipline leads to success, but with success the discipline decrease and as a consequence the success. That is why I teach my players discipline."
But, as evident by Wolfsburg's title run in 2008-09, and also Schalke 04 and their run to qualifying for UEFA Champions League (the following year after we [stupidly enough] let him go), it works. Don't change a thing Felix, you are (and have been and will be again) both a champion and a winner, both as a player and as a coach, you know what works, stick to it and bring the Schale back to Wolfsburg. We know it might take a couple of years, but we have faith you'll do it! BTW, how is the whole Diego saga going so far, has Wolfsburg found a buyer yet, and how much do we want for him? I'm also glad that Felix is not going to lower himself to using the Diego debacle as an excuse for the team not playing well if they don't. Put it (and him) in the rear-view mirror and go forward, we've got 34 league matches (plus any in the DFB-Pokal) to worry about more than where Diego will wind up and for how much.
Looks like Magaath is interested in Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Milan Badelj..If Dinamo qualify for the champions league i dont think they will be selling him..If the dont qualify it will take 8-10 million euros to get him..
Hey guys, Im reading that Wolfsburg are interested in Sergio Floccari of Lazio. Lazio have requested information about Kjaer but Wolfsburg has offered Diego in the deal instead. Are Kjaer and Diego on the transfer market? Do you guys need a Forward? Im just wondering if its a rumor to see if I should be excited or not. Thanks
Simon Kjaer has been jack shit the past season + from what I watched last season (I watched a good number of the matches LIVE online) and I'm sure that Felix wants to get off to a hot start this year, plus seeing highlights (lowlights) on YouTube of our DFB-Pokal loss to a fourth-division (Regionalliga Nord) club like RB Leipzig may have been the last straw for Simon Kjaer in a Wolfsburg uniform as far as Felix Magath is concerned.
Good, then the only thing that could become a distraction for Wolfsburg is the ongoing Diego sweepstakes (if there indeed is interest in another club wanting him), but you know Felix Magath will not allow the players to have that running even in the back of their minds let alone up front. Whatever happens with Diego should not be any of their business, especially come Matchday, in which this week will be our season opener in Cologne against FC Koln, and we look forward to the Wolves getting off to a hot start, much like Dortmund had against Hamburg earlier this afternoon/evening, I know Felix Magath has only one thing in mind right now, and that is who will succeed Marcel Schaefer as our captain, and who will start in goal for us (I assume it will be the venerable Diego Benaglio unless he gets injured before hand), but other than that, we should be ready to play as much as I will be to watch it come tomorrow morning at 6:30 am PDT/9:30 am EDT (and you can join me in watching the action on ATDHENet.tv), LIVE from Cologne, so all of you fellow supporters can follow the match and post your comments here, good or bad. I will be more than glad to reply should it be needed, but until then, remember this, IMMER NUR DU DER GRUN-WEISS VFL!!! (I hope my German grammar is spot on, please feel free to let me know if it isn't, I'm not yet too sharp on my German, but I am working on it).
Guess what, there is, from Atletica Madrid in La Liga in Spain, and a final deal may be close to being struck, so now there should be no bullshit excuses for Wolfsburg, win or lose, here are the full details on the talks: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11838_7074024,00.html ..and I hope VW saves up whatever money they get for him, rather than start wheelin'-and'-dealin' right away, after all if they pull the trigger too soon and the player doesn't pan out, it might set a bad tone for weeks to come, and we don't want a repeat of the bullshit that happened last year under the now-defunct (thank God!) Steve McClaren/Dieter Hoeness three-ring circus that nearly sank us into relegation last season for the first time since first earning promotion to the top flight in 1997, we have not been near the drop zone since and under Felix Magath have no plans to be there anytime soon.
GO WOLVES!!! NOTE: The vacant hanger on this shot will be filled once I get a white 1999-2000 VfL Wolfsburg jersey/trikot, and I believe I may have finally found one, as soon as I get my next paycheck, I will be buying it, thank goodness it's not on eBay this time.
Man, dont expect anyone in this thread. There are 0 wolfsburg fans. The only fans are VW employees. Everyone hates this corporate, plastic club. I wish they would die a slow death. Especially, with Magath and all their journey man players. It is all about the pay check at Wolfsburg. Nobody could give a crap about the club. There is no club. It is a corporate shell. Let's hope they get relegated this season. Its an enormous tragedy they didn't last season and Eintracht Frankfurt (a legit club) ate it for them.
There are fans of Wolfsburg outside of Germany who pay no attention to the politics they are involved in Europe... and (you must've forgotten) most of them are loyal Volkswagen owners (I own a 1999 New Beetle GLS 2.0 and a 1963 Transporter Kombi), and also the North Jersey Brigade back east in New Jersey. Also here in America VW has a completely different image than they do over in Germany, I already know they (VW AG) own a couple of banks and a few other items in the financial industry in Germany, but here in the States, it's all about the cars and the people (like myself) who drive them (don't forget "Volkswagen" translates as "People's Car"), and I'll be so stoked to see the 3rd Generation Beetle for 2012 when it comes out late next month. It means they can afford the great players and will be (from what I read) pumping in over $100 Million USD a year into the club over the next 3 years. Also, Eintracht Frankfurt really bit the big one on their own accord against Borussia Dortmund after getting off to a 1-0 lead against them in the 47th minute, I watched that match and also the Hamburg SV-Monchengladbach tilt while following the Hoffenheim-Wolfsburg match via the Bundesliga LIVE Ticker and it looked bleak for us, meanwhile Dortmund bounced back to destroy a one-man-short (thanks to a late straight red card on Frankfurt which lead to a penalty kick) and demoralized Frankfurt 3-1, thanks to 2 goals by Lucas Barrios, while Wolfsburg did its job and won 3-1 thanks to 2 goals from Mario Mandzukic (and an insurance goal by Grafite) while Monchengladbach could only manage a 1-1 draw in their match
Alright, I was a little harsh and drunk, but I still view this club as a dirty abomination. Let's hope RB Leipzig runs into trouble along the way or else we'll have a league consisting more Wolfsburg's, Hoffenheim's, Leverkusen's and Leipzig's than legitimate teams.
