Anyone watching the Olympic final Brazil-Mexico? Odd that Gio isn't starting for Mexico.

Of course. Just our luck, and his. Here is having the tournament of his life and gets a new club manager who might bring him in from the wilderness, and he gets injured. In the meantime, we have one striker on the books and apparently Sunderland are going after him.

Chelsea looked pretty poor. Yes, they were down to 10 men but I doubt they can hold on their 1-0 lead even with 11 men. RDM only knows the 'park a bus' tactic. Even with all their new attacking options, they will still do that. Can't see him surviving the season.

not surprised at all. chelsea was a VERY lucky team last season and looked like a 6th place team today. I expect them to be out of the top 4 again this year.

Wow, Jake Livermore with an outside shot of making an England debut this week...

Whilst i'm being cynical, 15M for Jack Rodwell?

English players are always overrated and overpriced. Bentley - 16m, J.Henderson - 20m and Carroll - 35m. :ROFLMAO:

    Aaron Lennon - 1 million
    Tom Huddlestone - 2.5 million
    Michael Dawson - 4 million *
    Kyle Walker - 4.5 million *

(Both Dawson and Walker signed in double deals, but that's a fair proportion of the total).

What's the link between those 3 overpaid deals in your post? Damien Comolli :p

I'll admit that made me giggle but I don't want to gloat about it right now considering our own dire straits up front, not to mention the JRFSB to Madrid situation.
that said, they're bloody well phooked without him. :D

Double dagger into their hearts. They sell their best player to a bitter rival and now they must still cheer for them if they want to get more $ from the transfer. :ROFLMAO:

If only RvP had been with Arsenal since boyhood, told Wenger to reject Man U's offer, publicly committed his future to the Emirates with the promise to agree to sit down and discuss a new contract at the end of the season, only to join Man U for free next year... only then we would have reached Sol Campbell territory.

Southampton sign Gaston Ramirez :D The2nd most random transfer of the summer so far, but a pretty big coup for them.

The most random being Joey Barton on loan to Marseille :D

I rate their manager Adkins as well, they could be this year's Swansea.
