except that he's supposed to be pretty fast/quick compared to Maxi who - while not slow - is not noted as a quick player.
I feel like I've heard the opposite - that Ramirez is not a very fast player. I've never seen him play so I have no idea but that's what I've read.
Well you guys can watch him at the Olympics this summer if you haven't seen him play already. He's going to have a great time against GB.
That's is exactly what i have heared as well. He doesn't seem to be worth the amount that are apearing on the papers. He may be technicaly gifted, but that is just not enough in the EPL, and more so if Rodgers wants to use him as a winger. On the other hand, i would be very happy if we can somehow sign Sturidge.
I don't believe at all that he's not fast enough. He's technical enough to where he can fit in. Maybe he doesn't have the straight line burst of some of your top wingers, but I think he's easily quick enough with the ball to handle it.
I think he's a great player and one of the reasons why RVP was so productive last season but Arsenal dont want to offer him more than 80k and I dont think we will either.
Carroll to Milan seems to be gaining traction...http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2170694/AC-Milan-keen-Andy-Carroll-loan-move.html At least in the Mail...
Are Silva or Mata very athletic? No. Are they playing on the wings in England where people thought they did in Spain? No. Do both provide a creative fulcrum across the entire attacking third of the pitch? Yes. These players are exactly what Ramirez can become for us. And I honestly think he is of greater potential, as well as ability, than Mata. So paying 16m for him when Chelsea paid 23m is not bad business.
And in other news, Suarez and Coates have been called up to the olympic squad. Better have a third striker in soon.
SkySports saying that we're in for Granero. If my memory serves me well, he usually comes on for ozil at Madrid, no? Or is it khedira?
Daily Roundup: We've agreed the fee for Ramirez according to several sources and papers. Rodgers was on television today and announced we should have one new signing by the end of this week. Milan are going to try signing Carroll on loan. Not going to happen. We've failed in a bid for Esteban Granero. Underwhelmed by this news, not sure he's in a position that is a pressing issue. However, if we were to try tempting away Sahin, I'd be ok with that... Chelsea had a bid for Schurrle, who has also been linked to us, rejected. It is believed to have been 20m euros. Giampolo Pazzini is leaving Inter according to reports. We've been mentioned in the papers. Not terribly impressed by this.
"I won't be bringing in many players - not loads of money to spend. 3 or 4 tweaks to help us achieve what we want, to be competitive in every game" as I suspected - he's been given a directive from the owners that he has a lot of quality in their minds in the squad already so work with it - and maybe later we'll give you more depending on how you are doing.
not sure really. It's not that clear cut. We have some glaring holes to fill, and I don't have a sense as to how much it will cost to fill those areas. I'm just glad to get some confirmation of the transfer plan instead of hoping that we get X, Y and Z for a 50M spend.
