IBV the team from the Westmann Islands who were expected to struggle against relegation are in 5th place. The biggest surprise so far this year has been KR, they were tipped as champions before the season but are in 10th place with just 3 points. They lost the Reykjavik derby 2-1 at home to Valur yesterday with a big crowd of 2252. Grindavik stay bottom without a single point from 6 games played.

Breidablik are top of the league but only on goal difference from IBV. Alfred Finnbogason scored a hatrick for Breidablik last night in the 4-0 win against Stjarnan. As for IBV they scored a 90th minute winner against Keflavik.

KR were 3-1 down at half time but fought back to draw 3-3 Breidablik stay top, leading IBV on goal difference.

Not looking good for KR, they are away to Karpaty Lviv tomorrow and are 3-0 behind from the first leg. As for Breidablik, they are home to Motherwell tomorrow. Motherwell lead 1-0 so could be a good second leg. I helped out Motherwell last week with their match programme, few articles about Breidablik and another about icelandic football. The Westmann Islands team came from behind to win 3-1 at home to Valur. FH won the Hafnarfjordur derby 3-1 against Haukar, there was a big crowd at Kaplakrikavollur for the game, 2726 people. At the bottom of the table, it looks like two from either Haukar, Selfoss or Grindavik will go down. There are no Icelandic teams left in European competitions now. FH, KR and Breidablik were all knocked out last week.
