Much as I dislike Robben's on-field persona I'm glad that he's sticking around. He delivers in the games he's actually healthy for.

I think Giroud is too similar to Gomez, as someone pointed our earlier. Seems like a quality striker though, but he's also in the box. I was preferring someone in the mould of Benzema, who can give us more than goalscoring options and perhaps work alongside Gomez.

the two strikers have similar ages
So deciding between a striker who has about 100 goals in 3 seasons in the BL and another who has less than 40 in French top divison in all his career is soo hard

Not sure if I want Giroud. He's good, but he's the type that I don't see being content playing as backup to Gomez only. If we only had a superstar youngster that's 19-20, like Alaba, thay plays CF we could use him as a backup and future replacement for Gomez.

Didn't expect anything else than Robben extending. Besides that I'm not really interested in Giroud

Arjen signing will be essential. Haven´t expected anything else and Im very glad he stays.

Still not excited about a possible Giroud Transfer...how about Guidetti? Could see him beeing the better add-on to Gomez. And im not really warm about those Nuri Sahin Rumors...he´s good, but not that good IMO and personally I can´t stand the guy.

Guidetti would be a great option if City let him go. Him or Dzeko would both be a solid partner for Gomez.

    GK: Neuer (2016), Butt (out)
    Defense: Boateng (2015), Badstuber (2014), Alaba (2015), Rafinha (2014), Lahm (2016), Contento (2013), van Buyten (2013)

Defensive Mids: Gustavo (2015), Tymoschuk (2013)

    Mids: Schweinsteiger (2016), Kroos (2015)

    Wingers: Ribery (2015), Robben (2015)

    Attack: Muller (2015), Gomez (2016), Petersen (2014)

    add in: Shaqiri, Dante

For next year, we have 15 players that, IMO, have the capability to play for Bayern.

A lot will depend on if Tymo leaves or stays, I don't mind him staying here because he can get the job done from the bench and seems like a good, mature player to have on the team. I think it's obvious it would be beneficial if we had another striker.

Our most improved position has to be CB, going from starting members of the three stooges just a couple of years ago to having
    1. Badstuber
    2. Boateng
    3. Dante
    4. Van Buyten
    is definitely a huge improvement.

Where do you see our biggest needs are?

    I could see...

    GK - Neuer, Starke
    LB - Alaba, Contento
    LCB - Badstuber, Dante
    RCB - Boateng, van Buyten
    RB - Lahm, Rafinha
DM - Schweinsteiger, Gustavo, Tymoshchuk, Can
    AM - Kroos, Muller
    W - Ribery, Robben, Shaqiri
    ST - Gomez, Dzkeo

Dzeko would probably be expensive, but it would be worth it imo. Petersen needs a loan to get some PT in the 1. BL.

^^ And you think Dzeko would sit on the bench for Gomez when he would do the same in Citeh for double the money

I would definitely go for Dzeko, if he can pry him from Manchester City that'd definitely tell me something, that we mean business. I am hoping we can make some serious transfers, the way Real Madrid or Barcelona do every season. So far, Shaqiri and Dante are ok transfers but not the way to keep winning in 2012-2013.

Nah, they can both start actually. Though its up to Heynckes to see how flexible his system is, I am hoping he adopts something more malleable.

So were going to ditch a system that fits our strength and got us to CL final?

I'd rather like that Bayern get another fullback and use Alaba as a substitute for LW/CM/LB. Alaba plays CM for Austria, where the LB spot is pretty much cemented by Fuchs. He has the pace and trickery to play LW, and is on his way to become a tactically aware CM. His pace and athleticism along with his good technique could make him the perfect partner for Schweini against defensive teams. Of course all this will take time, but its only possible if he plays his natural position.

So by getting a fullback, we will have the perfect bench - Alaba, Muller/Kroos, Shaquiri, Dante, New Striker - the quality depth that all of us have been craving for.

Edit - As for the Dzeko, he'd be competing only with Gomez at Bayern, while there he has to fight Aguero, Tevez and Balotelli for a spot in the first XI. Dzeko would be more of a direct competitor to Gomez than a backup. And we all know that Gomez needs to play regularly to be at his best. So I'm not sure whether the move, if it materialises, will benefit us.

No, maybe tweak the formation as the season progresses. This formation didn't get us into the final, it was Heyncke's very tight defensive structure, incredible work ethic and sense of involvement among the players and above all - individual and collective quality amongst the players. that being said, it is unlikely Heynckes would radicalize our approach, just for example - have some player alongside Gomez when Mueller, Robben or Ribery are unable to.

Alaba is too much of a good fit for us as a defender. First of all, he is a better fullback than 99% of others out there and he's only young. He keeps Lahm at rightback, his best position. For a fullback of his quality, we need to spend another 20 million, and thats not happening. Besides, if Gustavo and Schweini can lock out Madrid, Manchester City and Napoli - I don't care for another midfield unless it is to provide depth.

Either way, there are alternatives. If for example, Gustavo or Schweini and Kroos are unavailable, Contento could fill in for fullback while Alaba plays in the middle. Thats as far as I am taking it. We in part, owe our success to Alaba because he gives us so much unpredictability on the wing without being a petulant lunatic like Marcelo.

That is true, Gomez needs to maintain rhythm. However, he can also use a few games of rest and there, and Dzeko won't take the bench as an answer.

Yeah lets bench a potential world class player at 20 years of old at that position so we have "better depth". Are you serious or not, I can't genuinely tell...
    Coon repped this.
