    I think back then coaches were also more conservative and were more likely to stick to players they already knew.
    Also there were less matches for the national teams back then. So that would be another factor.

    There were 4 or 5 teams who were not as far from matching Bayern as they are now. Bayern had not build up their money machine yet. They were just getting started. Salaries where low and others could compete. Yes, there was more talent but at the same time I doubt that each squad was so star studded top to bottom. There was no bosman, and teams were limited on how many foreigners they could have in their side.

    Yeah, that's what I was getting at. A few other teams had enough talent to equal bayern most games.
