Just an observation but I noticed DRAGONED has cheatored his way to the top by putting his banker on a top 4 team at home against teams that finished lower than 10th last year.

    Its a pretty good cheat.

Lol i don't see anything wrong with doing that, it seems like a sensible thing to do. More sensible than wasting the banker on teams like Wolves anyway.

Besides, nobody can accuse me of cheating when i predicted Spurs would win 4-0. Still, they won so it's all good

Does anyone know if the insurance thingymajig protects your banker bonus if you play them both on the same match and get it wrong?

2 seasons ago if you did that, I think it reset your bonus to zero and gave you a zero for that match, with the insurance chip overiding the -20 or -30 you'd normally get for getting your banker wrong.

Last season I'm reasonably sure they changed the rules so that if you played your banker and insurance on the same match and got it wrong, you'd still get zero for that match, but the banker bonus was not re-set and it would allow you to pick up at the same level you were at prior to that, say +15, the following week. Is that right? If so, is that still the case? Can't see anything in the rules about it this time.

When I won this thing a couple of years back, I found that the bonus was very helpful indeed and went on a long run with +20 being added every week. Now that I'm not so good at getting the banker right, I think it might be worth guarding it if possible and stuck them both on the same game this past weekend to 'protect' a +10 bonus. Takes a while to build it up but can be knocked back to nothing so quickly.

If it doesn't protect anything other than changing a -20, or -30 into a 0, then I'm not so sure I'll bother in future.

I'm top of the Dream Team league and the IKTS league at the moment. I'm not usually one to brag, but while i'm here i thought i might as well :p

As for your question RoM; I don't know the answer. However, i'm sure i noticed someone play them both on the same game a couple of gameweeks back and they got the score wrong. I believe the insurance covered them and they scored 0.

I have actually been wondering the aswer to this question myself recently, as i feel using this tactic could prove to be very useful indeed. I was tempted to use on the Chelski/Spurs match over the weekend.

My title hopes are in tatters. The lack of draws is the culprit, 4 draws in all over 6 rounds (I must have predicted more than 20 draws already)

Just saw it on their FAQ page, looks like you won't lose the banker bonus, but it won't be applied to that week's total.:

That's weird, I haven't kicked anyone since I last said I did on here, when I booted a couple of people without United badges next to their name as everyone said they wanted United fans only this season. Looking back in this thread, that was August 20th.

Have you been in since then? If not, I might've accidentally kicked you at the same time. If so, I haven't got a clue what happened. As far as I'm aware, only I can boot people as the person who started the league.

    Can you not rejoin?

That is the strangest thing about this year's results. It does make sense for teams to go for three points but this must be a record for fewest draws.

Cool. I thought I got my banker reset to 0 earlier when I tried that.

Insuring my banker at the end of last year probably saved me more points than anything.

Curse you late goals, curse you. :D

    Dippers' 5th and 6th turn +15 into +10.
    Bolton's winner turns +30 into -10.
    Blackburn's winner turns +30 into -10.

The Blackburn late goal cost me 40 points as well.

No draws so far today as well; weird season.

I scored a terrible +70 for this gameweek and i'm still top. How is that possible?

There is also a LIVERPOOL FAN in third place. Kick. Him. Out.
