:) Nice, our first match. It would be probably somewhere in Switzerland.
I assume this match is preparation match for European teams on World Cup in Brazil. It's strange why we never played before, with such immigration connection.

We played one friendly match, but U21 level, 20.05.2008., 20:45, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Chile won here 1-0. Do you know anything about this match. I don't remember, especially I don't remember why in Kuala Lumpur.:)

Croatian football Federation writes only Croatian squad. Interesting, from that Croatian squad, only two players are near to senors: Ivan Kelava and Mato Jajalo. We lost one more generation, we had also one U21 team whowon against Serbia 6-2 in Belgrade, nobody from that generation didn't achieved anything.

I have translated in Google this article that writes about Croatia:

"Croatia would be the rival of Chile in February friendly
The European team is in the pipeline to face the Red in a friendly at the beginning of 2012. It is very close to signing their Euro 2012 qualifying and is noted for a wide range of cracks and their boss DT. According to La Tercera in ANFP explained that offered a friendly Croat federation to Red end of February 2012. "It's a good option said" from Quilín.
The chosen date would be February 29 in Europe, with stellar schools.
The novel for Croatia, born of the combined Yugoslav known for his 3 rd place in France in 1998 and have for several years, making good football.
Among those selected to stand in the picture of the great coach Slaven Bilic, is the goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa, the defenders Verdan Corluka, Josip Simunic, Darijo Srna, Niko Kranjcar flyers, Luka Modric and Eduardo Da Silva and strikers Ivan Klasnic.

    Euro:

Road to Euro 2012, Croatia in Group F sends, a unit on Greece. They will face the next day. In the last match, beat Israel at home 3-1. So many of the 47 Luka Modric and Eduardo Da Silva `to 55` 57 `and. Hemed opened the scoring at 44 'for the visit.

    Rawbau:

One of the things that stands out from the selection of Croatia, is your DT. The boss Slaven Bilic. The coach has only 38 years and despite being unable to qualify for their World Cup team, has it for quite some time in the top 10 in the world. By the way, Croatia is leading the way to the Euro group and shows a great game. However, the DT-known facet is its function as a guitarist and songwriter for the rock group Rawbau, which is one of the stars. Bilic, identified with the Hajduk Split is known for its acclaimed style in Europe, which since 2006 he did win the affection of the entire country, including supporters of arch-rivals Dinamo Zagreb."

That would be awesome considering the thousands Chilean fans living in France and Sweden. The "diáspora". Many of them will travel to Switzerland, as happened last week vs Spain at Sainkt Gallen, or vs France at Montpellier in august.:)

Also many Croats live in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France. Switzerland isn't far from Croatia.

    St. Gallen is Croatian city.

Many portals of Croats in Switzerland:

    http://www.croatia.ch/index.php

They have also schools in Croatian - cca 240 000 visitors of this page.

    http://www.hds-ch.com/

36.125 who have Croatian citizenship in Switzerland. But also there are cca 60 000 - 70 000 with dual citizenship.

These are Croatian institutions in Switzerland:

To bad that these pages are in Croatian. Always lazy to do some extra work.:D

There are diplomatic and consular offices (Bern, Zurich, Lugano, Geneve), medicine practices in Croatian language (Zurich, Richterswill, Oftringen, etc), lawyers in Croatian language, public information, Croatian Catholic Church, offices for translation and education (obrazovanje).

When you click on these names, you have their locations and phone numbers.
Majority of Croats live in German part of Switzerland (St. Gallen, Basel, Thun, Zurich).

It's not so bad idea when teams play friendly matches in neutral territory, because diaspora members could see their team.

Same thing did Juventus and Milan, when they played finals of Italian Cup or Super Cup in New York, because there are many Italians and better marketing. This was before 7,8 years, when they had glory.:D

If we would play in Chile, Croatia could have many fans there: Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta, Punta Arenas, maybe even Porvenir.:D Finally one great friendly match.
