Yup, still got called up though. Blanc seems to stick with his favorites, calling up Gourcuff even after a terrible season because "he has been average when looking at the last two seasons". Alou Diarra also got the call, when Capoue had an incredible season (and Amalfitano has looked really good, even though he hasnt gotten many minutes). Thats not to mention Malouda, who is Chelsea's version of Altintop these days.

Calling up Gourcuff is never terrible you friggin' hater

Seriously though, I think Blanc like every other NT coach just has players he feels comfortable with and he'd rather go with what he knows.

I agree. If it makes the French provide as much laughter as they did at the World Cup, they should make him their captain as well.

Gourcuff? More overrated than John Obi Mikel...

I could see France playing with a 4-2-2-2 system similar to Man City with two strikers, one who plays as more of a target and the other who drops deeper to help with build up. Something like the following in front of Lloris and the back 4:

    ---------Giroud---------
    Ribery-Benzema-Nasri
    -----M'Vila-Cabaye-----

Karim tends to play like that type of a center forward in our system anyways, even when he is supposed to be our "target" striker, I don't see any reason why Blanc couldn't give him that role for the Euros. Either way, barring injury I don't see a situation where he is left out of the starting XI.

I loved this article, talks about how Karim has gone from cat to attack dog under the guidance of Mourinho and Zidane.

With Karim Benzema in the team, Real Madrid won 76% of their La Liga games last season.

Without him in the team, they won 100% :D

That's because he plays in the 'tougher' fixtures

His 2 goals / assist for France against Estonia was a good performance.

It will only help his momentum / form into the tournament.

The guy's a monster at the mo, strong performances at all levels of the game and against opposition of all strengths. I remember him giving our (England) defence a nightmare the last time we played France.

Possibly not now, but we had Rio, Jagielka and Lescott and they were in-form at that time

According to different sites, Karim Benzema is considering joining Manchester City. His agent has stated that there is serious intrest from City. I really hope that Benzema doesn't leave. He has had an fantastic season and is probably our best striker atm..

A lot of people are expecting the current one to do better than that one. Eagerly awaiting the game on Monday.

Fuuck Aguero. That midget consistently says he wants nothing to do with our club yet some pathetically still pant after him. I like my Higuain-Benzema just fine.
