I know they're the Virginia Cavalry and not the Maryland Cavalry; but given the bad choice of name, joining the R*dsk*ns in FedEx might be the best choice.
The only people who would regularly drive from Loudoun County to FedEx all work at Redskins Park up the street about 2 miles from The Hounds' dirt pile I never did hear the actual reason the Cavalry did not end up playing at GMU.
umm...could the Cavalry get United's slot in MLS and access to RFK and dibs for building on any land set aside for future stadium to be built for soccer in DC? That would be my preference now.
Because inept clowns are better then inattentive clowns? I'll take DCU's dysfunction over the train wreck that is going on with VIP any time.
Going back to the OP's original question, I don't want ANY relationship to develop between DCU and the Loudon team, or any other half-assed, half-baked, "Pro" soccer team. I'd rather they develop a relationship with the Pro Fussball league I'm thinking of starting in my basement.
My "basement team" has an investor and a stadium plan. I would love for some extra support from DC United...
Sorry, just saw your post... Not sure whether they'd be surviving or not, that's not my point; my point is that they are a better fit as USL or PDL or NPSL than they would be as a NASL team.
Eddie Pope appearance in Ashburn...unrelated to Cavalry...x-posted in the Alumni Section. http://djungrady.wordpress.com/2014...h-u-s-legend-eddie-pope-at-finnegans-ashburn/
Anyone shocked here? The silence has been deafening for a long time now, even before all the issues became apparent. Tell you what, I'll pretend to be shocked by this news, because I think there should be at least one person. There, now I am shocked.
As much as I like Mark Simpson and was looking forward to some hot minor league soccer action closer to the house; a) I hate the NASL and would have preferred a USL team, and 2) I am so ********ing happy for traffic reasons that this land is staying vacant for a while longer
