£40,000 a week. But that sounds kind of low given they paid £12m for him.

was going to say if they paid him 40 k all year. and only paid 12 million that would upset me lol

i kind of have a hunch that were going after another number 10. and rivero wont be bought by the end of next year.

I'd be willing to put money or beer against that scenario...

I actually like what happens when both are on field together, but most have a stand alone D-Mid to do that.

It would be nice to see Colorado make some moves before training camp opens in January. At this time last year it seemed like all our resources were used up looking for a coach. Now that everything is in place I hope we get some players that could have some time with the team before preseason starts.

One of my questions is that with all of the talk about Mastroeni possibly coming back that we have a surplus at D-mid. We're not gonna have Pablo, Ginger, Thomas AND O'Neill back there right? IMO Pablo won't come back. But if he does I think Jeffs days here are numbered. We can't have that much talent at D-mid when there is other positions that are hurting so bad.

I think Jeff's days might be numbered ether way. They said they had to work with Thomas about getting him back in 2013, but assuming they do they'll have Thomas as the current d-mid and O'Neill as the d-mid of the future. Ginger's kind of expensive to be used as a backup and if we go back to a 3-man midfield can we really have Ginger and Thomas on the field at the same time with Rivero as the only attacking mid?

That is were I'm curious about Jeff and Omar being protected for next season. Really? Those two guys can and should be shopped. I agree with whoever mentioned on these boards before that we should be building around the spine of this team, which right now (to me anyways) is Rivero, Thomas, Moor and Pickens. This team with a solid MLS all-star quality CB and a CF that can move into pockets and finish (much like Robbie Keane) would be very dangerous.

For me the problem was not so much that the style was f'd up, but that we didn't have the right people to play it. And we keep thinking that some of our players are still our 2010 players, they're not. I'm optimistic for 2013, it can't get much worse than last season. Pareja should be better too. We just need the right players, and to get them we need to sacrifice our hold on MLS Cup nostalgia.

We kinda did, to start the season:
    Cascio-Omar-Mullan
    Castrillon
    Pablo Ginger
    Zapata Moor Wynne Kimura
    Pickens.

I would've thought, with all the soccer you watch, that you'd remember it.

Any thoughts about bringing Wilman Conde here? I hear he's on the way out of NYRB because of disputes with staff & players, but at $125k I thinks he's an upgrade over Marshall. Plus he's Columbian...

I love his play. However, Conde is injury prone and RBNY, reportedly, isn't the only place he's clashed with others. I don't know if he's worth the risk even at his current salary. It's a shame since he's a good CB.

    .
I think he's a cancer and the Rapids have too problems to address. They don't need the potential for his cancerous actions looming over their heads. That's on top on the injury woes. A CB is desperately needed and I think there are other better fits like an Ike Opara who SJ might be willing to deal.

collins from skc is the type of center back i see fitting in really well with the rapids

    we got our pacey guy

now we need a 6-4 wall.

they need to be able to read wynne tho. once the two center backs have so much space between them its easy to beat.

has to stay like 5-6 steps near wynne at all times

that or we need to tell wynne to never run after the ball and lurk outside the box and get a grunt worker that wynne can track and stay close to if need by a mistake happens.

Best way to get a cheap CB is with first pick of draft, not trading for one.

Signings will be for forwards in my book, remember as far as we know we only have one International Slot open and I don't think it would be used on Conde.

In the Kick Off this morning, it sounds like Bolton may have to offload either Tim Ream or Stuart Holden (or both). Maybe those guys? I know Holden has been out for a while, unfortunately, but when he was healthy he was good. I know there was some criticism around Ream how he wasn't actually that good in NYC, but I haven't seen or heard anything about his play at Bolton. Thoughts?

We should ask dismemberment, I'm sure he's played with both of them.
