Will she make a million dollars off her book series? Will she make more? Will she at least make six digits? And which book will be better? Official review given for Alex Morgan's first book: "It is great to have a quality 'Girls Team Sports' fiction book for the 8 and up set to recommend! Elementary school libraries could help fill a gap in their collections with this title! Also, nice to have a 'girl' protagonist who is good in Math!! Alex Morgan's 'character, 'Devin' provides young girls with a new type of role model; One who is refreshingly smart, a helpful team-player on and off the field, and a positive problem-solver."
Update: Morgan's first ever book is now ranked as the #2,411 best selling book on Amazon.com right now. http://www.novelrank.com/asin/1442485701
well, sales will have to cover her publisher's expenses and her advance before she starts to receive checks. i'm guessing she'll make over a million from the series before it's done. i have a friend, who has two books but she did her own publishing, writing, etc., so she kept 90% on every $17.99-19.99 sale. they think i hate morgan over at equalizer. she's an ok kid and an excellent class "A" direct striker, but i loath her fans.
You mean the ones that think she can do no wrong? Haha I feel ya. I love AM but I'm not going to act like she's perfect. As for the book, I think it'll do well, don't think she'll make over $1 million off it but it'll sell decently. Probably bring in a $100k is my guess. Being that it's her first book, her royalties probably suck.
It's more than one book. She's writing a series of books. She's already written at least the first couple.
Yeah I know, it's 3 books I believe, but I'm pretty sure they're all under 1 contract based on the way it was announced this fall.
They're only selling for a little over $10.00 per book. That shows me that she cares about getting the material in the hands of young girls, more so than making lots of money. She wants the books to be very affordable for families of all different income levels. Props to Alex. She's all class.
Yeah, I was looking down the road, as far as the series goes. This first one might not cover her six figure advice. I thought she was doing a couple of books on the main character.
Book sales are trending downward. The book was ranked as the #2,411 best selling book as of a few days ago, on Amazon.com Now it's the #2,702 best selling book on Amazon.com Let's hope during the match against Canada (June 2), it'll remind everyone that she has a book, and more people will buy. Then it can move into the Top 1,000 maybe.
Wait, it's only sold nine books on Amazon.com so far? ............. http://www.novelrank.com/asin/1442485701
Where are the bandwagon fanboys and girls? If this is a series, they should be starting a collection with this 1st edition. Anyway, she'll need friendlies and the World Cup to move units. I'm guessing at the end of the season she'll do a B&N tour and the talk show circuit. My two nieces are too old, or I'd probably grab two copies.
I'm curious to see iBook sales, or physical book sales. This doesn't strike me as an Amazon heavy hitter.
This is great news, but I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Let's just hope the iBook sales are through the Rrrroooooooooffff.
yeah me either. It's published weekly though so maybe it's just not up yet, the tweet was from someone with the publisher, maybe he found out first? I didn't think her sales were looking that great.
Does anyone know the title of her third book? "Saving the Team" (first book) "Sabotage Season" (second book) "Champion off the Field" ???
I honestly thought her book sales would be higher than this (by now). http://www.novelrank.com/asin/1442485701
Her book sales rank keeps plummeting. So far, the Canada match didn't help. http://www.novelrank.com/asin/1442485701
hahaha, she has to do a book tour, physically and on the tv talk circuit. sales will increase after the world cup. believe it or not she's not as big as the Williams sisters or a superstar in track and field like felix. soccer has its' nitch, but there are other sports for women, which are viewed as more marketable. add danica patrick to the list
It's the first book of a projected kid's series. It's sold plenty well enough for what it is. As the series grows, more libraries will pick it up.
