yes and no-I think most are, but I remember that there were an awful lot of those white sheets with "buy this seat" at the soft opening, so I am not sure how many more sold.
I suppose one of us with time could go out to the terrible ticket software AEG created and look at a seat map for a game in October or so. That would tell us roughly how many are NOT season tickets.
I'm pretty sure most sideline seats in the lower levels on both sides are sold out to STHs. However, I've seen 14 consecutive row A seats up for sale on Stubhub so I am always wondering the scalper share of the STH sold.
With a higher number or percentage of overall STHs being new for 2012, what is the 1st year retention rate? I would bet that the first year retention rate is lower than the 5th year as a STH retention rate. More churn for first timers, which is why the renewal rate would skew lower for the Dynamo than the typical sports team. The 70% average renewal rate is likely spread across a more even distribution of STHs by year of acquisition or subscription.
Retention rates? Why isn't the state legislature involved in this? There should be laws. If you miss an early season game you get three chances to attend another game before you're dropped. If you don't make your payments on time, that's OK, the statistics are what we care about! You can pay $1/mth over the next five years and we'll keep you on as a STH. And of course there will be the state mandated exit exam; DADASS (Dumb Ass Dynamo Administrative Seat Statistic) A STH who has attended only two games during the regular season will be retained if he/she attends one home playoff game and buys two Shock Tops and a large popcorn. We need to assure that the Dynamo are considered an Exemplary Franchise. Unlike the Rockets and Astros who achieved Acceptable ratings.

The @HoustonDynamo now average the 2nd most fans per game passing the @astros last night. Current averages: Dynamo 20,952 & Astros 20,897.
And since the Dynamo "empty seats" is substantially less than the Astros "empty seats" that variance is likely greater (of actual butts in seats).

FYI your numbers for the second Toronto game are wrong. It's 19930. I'm getting 20817 as the average right now for the Dynamo.

Nobius, All these attendance numbers are the ones reported by the Houston Dynamo except the 2nd Toronto FC game, which was Ortiz reported attendance. It has now been fixed.
Yep, that's where I get the numbers from too. Not sure why I get 20,817 as an average and you get a different number.

Assuming the last 3 home games are SELLOUTS, the Dynamo will finish with an average for the season of 21,034 a game.
If you had told me at the beginning of the season that we may get over 20K average, I would have celebrated.

Last night is what I call a Metrostars sell out, lots of tix sold, given away, very few buttisimos in the seats.
I think that the MLS folks who determine what constitutes a "sell out" probably used to work for the airline industry. "Direct Flight" does not necessarily mean that it is a non-stop flight, it might stop a couple of times before you get to your destination.
The technical term is "tickets distributed", to pump up the attendance count, but I don't doubt that all or nearly all seats were sold. It's just a high no-show factor. Last night was the sort of night that for a non-playoff game many people will eat their tickets rather than sit in the rain for 2 hours.
The Keeper discussed that on her show and I'll paraphrase: the people that did show really cared. They were nervous as heck until the goals came and the jubilation was awesome after each. For those that didn't show: outside of a couple 10minute stretches, the rain wasn't nearly that bad and shame on you.
