Maybe they're the only ones who didn't do it once and go "whoa, hey, what a mess THIS is, I'm outta here..."

I don't think this matters a whole lot but is Pat Onstead suspended for this game?

And, pardon my ignorance, but is Hamid playing Sunday?

I was listening to Capitol Soccer Show discuss this issue too and I agree with you. Let's get all the minutes out of him we can. If he's only able to go 30 minutes, let's try to get 30 minutes and get an early goal and make a game of it. If we bring him in later he might have to go an extra 30 and struggle. Although if we did that and he DID have to go an extra 30, I'd be happy because it meant we tied the series. Still let's let him start and hopefully give us 45 (or more if we can and bring Boskovic in against tired legs.

Flip flop Neal and DeLeon (DeLeon doesn't need to be chasing Corey Ashe this game, let Korb/Neal handle him) and Woolard where Russell is (I don't know if you flip flop lineups) with Dudar instead of McDonald (this is if the injured can't play, obviously) and I think that's it.

-Boskovic for Santos at 70', push up DeRo, regardless of score. All other subs contigent on the score.
-Bench: Willis; White, Russell; Augusto, Boskovic; Salihi, Tan
-If they need a goal, pull Dudar and put in Salihi. Push Pajoy wide and Neal to the left.

    --DeLeon-----Salihi------DeRo
    Neal-------Boskovic------Pajoy
    ------------Kitchen-------------
    Woolard-----Jakovic------Korb

-Augusto for DeRo if/when he's falling down from exhaustion, Pajoy higher up.

    --DeLeon-----Salihi------Pajoy
    Boskovic-----Augusto-----Neal
    etc.

United will score, but will they concede?

    3-1 good guys, 5-3 pens.

If we have to rely on Dudar on the back line, it's going to be the longest 90 minutes of our lives. Any of the other injuries we can deal with. But McD is essential.

6 months ago you would have been West Coast's sock puppet, but now you speak for all.

Actually, I would not be surprised to see Andrew Dysktra this game. Hamid is seriously in the doghouse after his sending off (yet again) and Willis shit the bed with his comeback chance last game.

    Thx,

    Jay!

As usual, I have no tactical insights or reasoned arguments to make. Just flatten the bastards.

He is not allowed on the field, IIRC.

What happened that Onstead is suspended? (I wasn't high, but I missed it.)

He was shown a red at the end of the first half for arguing with the ref about his no-foul call on the Hainault tackle.

    Thx,

    Jay!

I think Onstad decided he'd take the fall for Ben on that one...So, that means if when there's garbage this game, it'll be Chad Ashton to take the card. :D

Chad almost got into it too at the end of the second half last weekend. It looked like he was about to get a card as well.

Ben actually grabbed him and pulled him away from the officials. It was very heated.

Quite rightly, I feel. Hell, even Ben kept repeating "watch the replay. Go home and watch the replay." I wish I coulda seen what he was saying right before that. :D

That was one of the really odd things about that game. Pat is tremendously popular here, the hero of numerous games, especially the pk's after our first Cup game. Everyone was excited to see him back, and the first chance fans have to greet him he's met with boos instead. Not what we were expecting to do at all. Crazy. I could never have pictured a scenario where we would ever boo Onstad. When does a GK coach ever do anything remotely worth booing?

It's a class thing. We usually greet our former players with applause unless a) they scored a winning goal against us in a critical match, b) they parted ways with the team on less-than-friendly circumstances or c) they're Freddy Adu.

Exactly, that's what we do. Unless he's being belligerent and arguing a call at the ref that we believe was called correctly. Then, regardless of the player or the amount of class one has, you just have to boo.
