I'm not from Houston so I had to look her up, but she's the mayor so that's a pretty big deal for her to be there, right?
Meet Westside Cosmo. His humor is hit, or miss. It might be more of a political statement, as he is likely in opposition to her party.
Chron article http://www.chron.com/sports/dynamo/...-Women-s-Soccer-League-5056244.php?cmpid=hpbn That's the first time I've seen a number on the deposits. I'm guessing that is actually tickets and not 1,000 different fans putting down deposits but still not bad.
Depends. If they've ironed something out with the Aces, then I assume they'll keep that brand with a few tweaks. If they're doing their own thing, it'll be a while.
Just received call to select tickets. Club level 105 - 107 are $288 per ticket, but these aren't available until Monday unless (I think) one has existing tickets in those sections. Sideline are $192, (and if remembering correctly) endline $168 & supporters $144.
Good point, though considering there hasn't been any hint of Aces involvement from what's already been leaked I'm leaning more toward the latter possibility than the former.
Combination? The article says "more than a 1,000 fans put deposits on season tickets". That is either the number of fans who put a deposit or the number of tickets that those fans put deposits on. If it is the former then it is likely well more than 1,000 tickets since many of them surely would have went for multiple tickets but none could be less than 1. If it is the latter then it could be well less than 1,000 people but still more than 1,000 tickets. My guess is that it is the latter since tickets total are usually given by the number of seats, not the number of account holders, and that is still a good number. If it is the former then that is even more encouraging.
Since my daughter just signed up for her first season with the Katy U6 league I'll get some season tickets. The more girls soccer I can get her around the better. She already has fun going to Houston Cougar games.
Some indication that the team may be named Houston Dash. Or Dash is a place-holder for the eventual name. There is a fb page, website, and twitter with that name. https://www.facebook.com/houston.dash https://twitter.com/HoustonDash http://www.houstondynamo.com/test-houstondash/tickets
Or they could have over a thousand distinct fans and some number greater of tickets. I only know for a fact that some people placed one deposit to show support while other put down deposits for multiple tickets as if they were buying. The dynamo cannot read minds so that number is either the number of ticket deposits they received or the number of distinct fans. In either case, the number or actually "tickets" equating to a deposit will be somewhere greater than 1000 (even if it is 1001 and I am the only one that did that).
"Or"? There is no "or". I included that possibility as one of the two. I'm just saying that there is a difference between 1,000 fans and 1,000 tickets. I hope it was 1,000 fans because that would imply many more tickets to me. I wish I knew which one it was mostly because I'd like to know. That's all.
My three Dynamo STH buddies and I just got our NWSL Houston STH tickets reserved a minute ago. This is sweet. I can't wait to take my young daughters to see some strong, athletic women as role models.
